ARMY TIMES AND MILITARY TIMES COVER MRFF-EXPOSED ARMY OFFICER WHO SHAMELESSLY BEGGED TO BE THE NEXT MARTYR FOR CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM

MRFF Founder & President Mikey Weinstein's
excerpted quote from the Army/Military Times article below:

"Unless the (DoD) is prepared to levy extremely serious penalties on these violations of their own internal regulations, to support the Constitution, the core values of each branch, the UCMJ, it’s going to be a disaster for this country”

How harshly should DoD punish
political, religious proselytizing?

Military Times covers the case of Army Reserve Major Jamie Schwandt, who was exposed by MRFF last week after he shamelessly begged to be the next martyr for Christian nationalism, apparently trying his best to get in trouble with the Army for posting a regulation-violating political and religious video, and then tweeting the little slap-on-the-wrist punishment he got at Madison Cawthorn, Jim Jordan, and Trump-loving “news” network OANN in hopes of getting his fifteen minutes of “persecution” fame.

Excerpt from Army Times and Military Times article. Emphasis added by MRFF:

[...] As Weinstein, founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation and a former Air Force judge advocate, points out, a counseling form is hardly punishment at all.

Like a child frantically jumping up and down, crying “Pick me! Pick me!,” Army major Jamie R. Schwandt is jumping up and down, crying “I want to be persecuted! I want to be persecuted! Please notice me OANN and Fox!!! Make me the next martyr!!!”

Major Schwandt is a real piece of work. Apparently having seen other military officers and NCOs become darlings of the Christian nationalist crowd by getting in hot water for violating military regulations with their anti-LGBTQ actions and contemptuous words against the president, all in the name of their “sincerely held religious beliefs,” Major Schwandt is doing his level best to violate those same regulations as publicly as someone with only 32 YouTube followers can, seemingly in hopes of getting himself harshly punished by the Army so he can join the ranks of the “persecuted” and get his fifteen minutes of “persecution” fame.

On Saturday, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation was sent a YouTube video made by Major Schwandt — a video that this whore for attention actually began (after revealing that he had COVID) by saying: “As an Army officer, this video could get me into trouble, but I don’t care.”

And get in trouble he did — well, at least sort of. Major Schwandt received a Letter of Counseling, which is merely a slap on the wrist.

But still trying his damnedest to be noticed and become a martyr, Major “See-what-I-got” did something quite unprecedented. He posted a photo of his actual Letter of Counseling on Twitter, in an August 11 tweet

Good morning, Mikey

As you are aware, I regard all religious beliefs as a form of superstitious madness.
Your celebrity creates an opportunity for religious crazies.
You have reason for concern, and I share that with you. The very last thing that I ever want to see during the rest of my life would be your martyrdom.  So I hope you will always take whatever protective steps are available to you to continue your valuable work, and leave the scene at a ripe old age by natural causes.
Forgive me for not praying.

Your life pal,
Stan

Dear Mr. Weinstein,

I am not a veteran, but i am grateful for your enduring, courageous and effective work protecting the rights of current and former members of the military.

It is shameful how people in positions of power of many stripes abuse their presence with others to try and force their favorite doctrine when they should be performing a service for or are working with.

You are an inspiration to those of us who hope to do right or just get through the day.

May you be well

Again thanks,
