A modern vineyard in Israel

TENTH SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST

August 17, 2025

This Sunday Rev. Dr. Peter Bynum will preach a sermon entitled

"God v. The Vineyard"

based on Isaiah 5:1-7.

Join us in worship at 10 am in person or via livestream

on Facebook, YouTube, or our Livestream page.

In Our Prayers

  • With Compassion Camp starting Monday, we offer prayers for all of the children who will join us for fun, fellowship, and learning. We also pray for our teachers, assistants, and volunteer helpers. May our time together be safe, joyful, faithful, and fruitful!

  • Our prayers are with the Halliley family as they mourn the loss of Jay’s father. May they feel God’s comfort and presence during this time of grief.

  • Lori Godwin requests prayers for the difficulties she is having with walking and mobility.

Do you have a prayer request to share with our LAC community? Call our prayer line at

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: LAC'S ANNUAL BLOCK PARTY!

Sunday, September 7th, is WELCOME BACK SUNDAY. We have a wonderful morning planned with special music in worship to include national recording artist Carrie Newcomer, the start of Sunday School, and one of our favorite long-standing traditions, our ANNUAL BLOCK PARTY.

Music Notes from Douglas Kostner, Director of Music Ministry

Chancel Choir is starting with a bang this year. It’s no secret that Carrie Newcomer is joining us for worship on Sunday, September 7. Haven’t you ever wanted to join a Grammy-winning singer’s backup group? Well, that will be us.

It will be a quick preparation: I’ll send out the music beforehand, we’ll have one rehearsal on Wednesday, September 3, at 7:30 pm, then meet on Sunday at 9 am to put it together with Carrie. Are you in? Let me know! dkostner@lacny.org

PS: There’s no obligation to continue with the choir for the rest of the season, but we’d be pleased if you did.

KEEP SCROLLING TO LEARN MORE ABOUT... the evening with singer-songwriter Carrie Newcomer on September 6, 2025. All are welcome. Spread the word, share with family, friends & neighbors too!

************************************************************************************************************************** This week in Worship, Melanie Haung will be joining us on flute.

Concert & Reception 9/6/25 @ 8 PM...

LAC SEEKERS kicks off with a very special event on 9/6 at

8 PM in our sanctuary.

An Evening with Carrie Newcomer, singer, songwriter, poet, and activist.

Hailed by Rolling Stone Magazine as "asking all the right questions." Carrie has 20 nationally released albums to her credit. We're so pleased that her soulful, bluesy voice will fill our sanctuary for this very special evening!

Learn more about Carrie on our website. Reserve your seat, spread the word, and be sure to stay for the Champagne and Confections reception to follow the concert. Your response is important in helping us prepare and communicate any changes with you regarding the event.

A special thank you to LAC member Ted Utz and Vine Street Music for providing the sound and technical expertise for this concert evening

LOOKING FORWARD TO WELCOMING EVERYONE BACK AT OUR ANNUAL BLOCK PARTY SUNDAY!

Mark your calendars!
