February is often called the month of LOVE! At Warrior Spirit, we believe love shows up in action. It looks like showing up for veterans, first responders, educators, youth and individuals in recovery - even when life feels heavy. It looks like listening without judgment, walking alongside someone in their healing journey and creating safe spaces where people feel seen, valued and supported. Serving others is one of the purest expressions of love we know. It’s choosing compassion over convenience. It’s meeting people where they are and reminding them they don’t have to carry everything alone. Scripture tells us, “God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” We see that truth lived out every day through acts of service, presence and care. But love also means something else that’s just as important: loving yourself. We believe self-love isn’t selfish - it’s essential. Caring for your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being allows you to continue serving and loving without burning out. Rest is love. Boundaries are love. Asking for help is love. Healing is love. Tending to what has been entrusted to you is an act of wisdom and faith.
This month, our hope and prayer for you is simple:
• Love others with intention and empathy
• Love yourself with grace and patience
• And remember that you are worthy of care, support and peace - just as you are
Thank you for being part of the Warrior Spirit family and for walking this journey of service, healing and growth with us.
With gratitude and love,
Gabe & Ashley Onofre

It’s always a privilege to connect with Aggie students and remind them they don’t have to navigate stress, transition or service-related challenges alone. Huge thanks to Eric Ayles & Joe Palacios for representing Warrior Spirit so beautifully! So grateful for our partnerships, these servant hearts and the way they show up for others. | | |
Servant Spotlight:
WildHearts Petventures & PAWS on Purpose Tina Eldridge, Founder | Cypress, Texas
WildHearts Petventures was born not out of a business plan, but out of lived experience. For founder Tina Eldridge, a woman veteran entrepreneur, the idea took shape during a season of burnout and rediscovery after military service. Working long hours behind a screen aggravated physical limitations and quietly eroded her mental well-being. Relief came in an unexpected yet deeply familiar way - stepping outside with her dog.
“Nature, movement and my dog weren’t just ‘nice extras.’ They were medicine.”
That realization sparked a question that would change everything: If this is helping me so profoundly, how many other veterans, families and overwhelmed pet parents need this too?

From Service to Purpose
Service sits at the heart of WildHearts Petventures. Tina’s military background shaped her leadership style - calm under pressure, people-first and deeply attuned to safety and trust. She brings a trauma-informed lens to her work, recognizing that healing doesn’t always happen in formal settings.
“Sometimes meaningful support doesn’t look formal - it’s walking side by side on a trail, having a natural conversation, connecting someone to a resource or simply helping them feel less alone.”
This philosophy extends naturally to animals and their people. WildHearts isn’t simply about pet care, it’s about connection, regulation and preventing isolation.
Adventures with Intention
WildHearts Petventures is a for-profit pet services company with a built-in community mission. On the business side, Tina offers trail adventures, enrichment walks, pet transportation and pet sitting - each designed to support pets’ physical and emotional well-being.
One signature offering is adventure-based pet sitting: small, well-matched groups of dogs are transported to safe natural or private spaces for 60–90 minutes of off-leash exploration.
“I often say I’m a bit like a camp counselor for dogs - guiding safe, enriching adventures where they can explore, socialize and build confidence.”
While dogs lead the adventures, WildHearts also supports cats, small animals and multi-pet households - because families come in all shapes and species.

PAWS on Purpose: Community Care in Action
Alongside the business, Tina created PAWS on Purpose, a community initiative partnering with nonprofits to offer free or low-cost services and dog-friendly outdoor experiences for veterans and families in transition. Paid services help sustain this mission-driven work.
Through this model, Tina has already supported veterans facing major life stressors - offering reduced-cost care so they could focus on court proceedings, safety or healing without worrying about their pets. By helping individuals cover essential pet care during times of crisis, this support reduces the likelihood that animals will be unnecessarily surrendered to shelters or left in unsafe situations simply because their owners lack temporary resources.
"Keeping families and their animals together helps prevent unnecessary surrender and reduces overcrowding in shelters."
Healing - Nature & Connection
The human–animal bond is central to Tina’s vision. She has seen how movement, fresh air and animals naturally calm the nervous system and open the door to authentic connection.
“Animals don’t judge or rush us — they meet us exactly where we are. Sometimes healing looks simple: fresh air, movement and a loyal companion beside you.”
Her lifelong calling to work with animals and guide learning continues to expand. Tina is pursuing Texas Master Naturalist certification, serves as a nature trail guide and facilitates outdoor, hands-on learning experiences for children and families.
“Since I was a child, I’ve felt a deep calling to work with animals and guide learning and growth — helping people build confidence and explore their potential — in a natural setting.”

Looking Ahead
Over the next year, WildHearts Petventures aims to deepen impact and broaden access through:
- Expanding adventure-based pet sitting and transportation
- Launching guided group “Pupventure” hikes
- Securing private land for safe off-leash outings
- Strengthening nonprofit partnerships through PAWS on Purpose
- Offering sliding-scale or free services for veterans and families in transition
- Developing subscription-based outdoor programming
- Exploring podcasting, brand partnerships and therapy-dog service
At the center of it all is Luna, Tina’s two-year-old mini Aussie and Chief Joy Officer.
"Luna helps promote wellness, outdoor enrichment and community connection for everyone we serve."
How the Community Can Help
WildHearts Petventures is in a foundational season and community connection is everything. Support can come through referrals, sharing their story, connecting private land or trail access, partnering through nonprofits or veteran networks, sponsoring events, donating supplies or collaborating on programs.
“We want to create more opportunities for people and pets to thrive together — in nature, through adventures, and in community.”

During a recent visit to Central Kentucky Riding for Hope in Lexington, Kentucky, Warrior Spirit Program Director Ashley Onofre had the opportunity to participate in a run-through of Week 3 of their 8-week, non-mounted equine program for veterans. The session focused on grooming, desensitizing activities, leading and intentional trust-building - foundational practices that support confidence, emotional regulation and resilience. Eve, Ashley’s equine partner for the morning, was calm, responsive and a beautiful reminder of the power of steady, quiet connection. Programs like this create meaningful space for healing, growth and successful reintegration for veterans, active military and their families. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn from organizations doing this work with such excellence, compassion and heart. Learn more about CKRH at https://ckrh.org/
