This simple and effective technique has a calming effect on the mind and body. Slow and controlled breathing will immediately reduce stress levels.
- Sit down and close your eyes
- Place your right hand on your stomach and left hand on your chest
- Imagine a blue balloon in your stomach
- Breathe in through your nose and imagine the balloon in your stomach filling up with air
- Exhale through the nose and allow all the air to flow out of your body, deflating the balloon in your stomach
- Silently repeat “I feel calm….i feel relaxed…and at peace…", and say/visualize the number 10
(Repeat the above ten times counting back from 10 to 1)
