CHFA is sponsoring rent reporting services for multifamily property owners of CHFA-supported properties to help low- and moderate-income Colorado tenants improve their credit scores and open doors to new financial opportunities. CHFA is partnering with leading financial technology company, Esusu, Inc., to provide the rent reporting service to up to 20,000 tenants by reporting positive rent payments to the major credit bureaus.

A growing number of properties are expressing interest. As of the end of September:

  • Ninety-five properties and more than 3,000 residents enrolled across Colorado
  • 8,000 residents potentially pending onboarding

The program is also seeing results. Of the enrolled residents:

  • More than 650 have become credit visible, meaning they had no prior credit reporting and now have an average credit score of 653.
  • Nearly 70 percent of residents improved their credit score after positive rent payments were reported, by an average score increase of 58 points.

Next Step

Enrollment and set-up for the Rent Reporting Program are quick and easy for property owners. Esusu’s system works with most property management software for a simple start.

To express your interest, please complete the Rent Reporting Program Interest Form. Once a property is enrolled in the Program, tenants will have the option to opt-in to Esusu’s rent reporting service.
