Principal Ansley's Weekly Message
Dear Santee Family,

“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love” Mother Teresa

Last week, I quoted the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. where he spoke about serving others. This week, I want to thank all of our community partners who give so much to our entire school community.

This week, Vision to Learn came to our school for two days to provide free eye exams to over 50 students and will be giving eye glasses to our students who need them.

All year, we have many partners who give to our school community. I want to give a huge shout out to:

A) Santee Successes

1) After drilling down on our reclassification data and calculating from the students eligible to meet reclassification rates we met our 22% goal! Great job team!

2) Our OEHS visit went great. Huge thank you to our custodial and maintenance team!

3) Our Water Polo team won this week along with Girls'/Boys' Soccer and Girls'/ Boys' Basketball vs. Maya!

4) This week we had a drop in attendance discrepancies, please continue to pay close attention to your daily attendance so that we can close the gap.

5) Currently we have 257 seniors who have submitted applications for a 4 year college and 169 students who have submitted their financial aide applications! Keep up the great work!

6) Our referral data has decreased tremendously this school year! Thank you to our RCCL teams, to our staff for leading with love and our partners who support our students social emotional needs!

7). Admin Team updated the Santee Falcon Website Calendar with up to date PD dates and events. Please Click Here to see the Up to Date Santee Falcon Calendar

See electronic version of the Mission and Vision Poster.
B) Santee Hard Truths

  • ECAST numbers are out and they are predicting lower numbers of enrollment for next year which lowers the amount of funds provided in our 20-21 budget. We are submitting an appeal because our current numbers and historical enrollment data is in direct contradiction to these predictions!

  • The percentages of D's and F's for 9th graders for the 1st semester are high in some content areas and call for a sense of urgency!

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
