A Message from Headmaster Scott
Dear Archway Trivium West families,
Yesterday we experienced a truly exceptional example of perseverance. To understand the significance, we need to first understand something about state testing. A state test is done when the student submits the test. In all reality (and I have seen it before) a students could hit a few random keys and then submit. There is literally no accountability when it comes to the degree of effort a student is required to put in on a state test. Furthermore, students can take stretch breaks and bathroom breaks, but they have to do so individually and without talking. Lunch is eaten in the testing room if a student works into the lunch period. These are state testing rules, completely independent of our academy.
It is within this rigid context that the entire 4th grade, all three sections, spent the whole day working on their writing test. That means that each of these young scholars chose, on their own, to spend the a whole day focused on writing a good essay—and nothing else! When I say “the whole day” I mean that there literally were students submitting their tests at 2:55 PM. I don’t know how these test will turn out, but I could not be more proud of our scholars for their willingness to forego immediate gratification of recess time or social interactions in order to put forth their best effort on the task in front of them. If you have a 4th grader, let him or her know they did something very good. If you do not, please take a moment to hold up this example for your scholar. Have a great weekend!
Heartily Devoted,
Clay Scott
Headmaster

Academy Giving - Tax Credit
We currently are at 72% of our Tax Credit goal!! We need 46 more Tax Credits to reach goal. If you are doing your taxes this weekend, don’t forget this EASY WAY to support the school. RE-DIRECT your tax dollars that would otherwise go to the state of AZ and allow them to benefit our Field Trips and Extracurricular Programs at Archway Trivium West. Encourage anyone else you know with AZ state tax liability to do the same! Help us make the Silly Sock Celebration a reality for the scholars! bit.ly/ArchwayTriviumTC
HELP US REACH GOAL BY REACHING OUT TO YOUR NETWORK IN ARIZONA – there is simply NO EASIER WAY to financially support our school than encouraging Arizona state tax-payers to re-direct tax dollars to the school. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK THEM!!!!
|
1) For 2021, The CARES Act allows taxpayers to claim a $300 (single)/$600 (married) deduction for cash gifts to a 501c3 like Trivium even if you use the standard deduction and do not itemize. This is in addition to your standard deduction!!!

State Testing Dates (3rd-5th Grade Students Only)

If a student leaves the testing environment, s/he cannot continue their exam and it will be submitted as-is. Please do not schedule appointments for these dates or pull your children out early.
We recommend that your scholars get a good night's sleep the day before and a nutritious breakfast in the morning. Please have students bring the following: a healthy snack and water bottle for the break during testing.
Additionally, all students should bring a set of headphones, as certain parts of the test require audio. These must not be Bluetooth headphones, but be able to connect via an auxiliary cord.
