Counting App – Do you count coffee cups? Or maybe chairs?

Great app---“Count” (listed under Count Things from Photos in Apple Store—and yes it will count pencils…

Is your organization looking for Virtual Performers?

Great idea from Laura Greco Check, CMP of creating a Virtual Performer Directory for her organization. So thrilled she is including Karla Chisholm who performed at my November and January CMP class.

Why Every Event Professional Should Be on TikTok
Biz Bash
 You may be thinking “Really?”
Isn’t everything else enough—great article with a lot of good applicable steps. Also I am thinking it’s a great way to introduce yourself if you are job searching---tell people about the events you have planned!

Shout Out to Two Award Winners

Kristen Turner, CMP who I had the opportunity to get to know through my CMP class won the first ever Leadership in Services Award from ESPA, the Event Service Professional Association. She is the Director of Convention Services for MEETPittsburgh.(One of my favorite cities.)

Also Bree NIdds, CTA who was recently named to the 20 in their 20’s list for PCMA. As many of you know Bree is with Discover Lehigh Valley, who has been a big supporter and partner this year for the Room Set Up Video and now the Peeps Contest! More info below about the contest)

Helping the industry—How to help a CVB/DMO

I believe most of us are looking for ways to help the industry, and when it’s a free way, all the better. Bree Nidds who I mention above, shared something with me that I did not know. Most people who comment on CVBs/DMOs on social media, comment from the Tourism angle, hardly ever from the meetings side.

So---did you ever work with a CVB/DMO that helped you? Now’s the time to give them a shout out, and make sure you indicate they helped with a meeting! It will take a few minutes, they will appreciate it—and they will be glad to see you when it’s time to go back!

Are You Looking for Your Second Act?

On February 18, I participated in a panel for TAMS, the Travel and Meeting Society. Titled “The Second Act—Where Could Your Career Go From Here?” you can catch the free recording here:

Diversity and Inclusion February 26
MPI- New Jersey

Thinking you have been to one of these? I only learned in the past year that what we have called “D&I” was now “DEI”, adding Equity to the vision. And only very recently have I learned the emphasis of the “B”. This is a subject that is being heavily recognized in the meetings and events industry, with views of how meetings and events contribute to systemic bias. This session is being presented by someone who is not one of the usual presenters in the industry, giving a different perspective on this crucial topic. I’ll be there and hope you will too.
