Pastor Trudy's Message

Our ancestor in faith, Abram... or as you more likely know him, Abra-HAM, takes center stage this week. He is known for his great faith in stepping out to follow a God he doesn't know. This week we will see that stepping out in faith doesn't mean he can't ask questions or express a need for reassurance. Isn't this encouraging in our faith walk?

God of Abraham, You call us to follow and then patiently answer our questions, though maybe not always in the way we would like. When we lose sight of the goal, You help us to refocus and follow. In Jesus' name, Amen.

*We will do our best to respond to your questions in the enews, but can't promise that we will get to all of them. You can email Pastor Trudy if you haven't seen your question and would like an answer.

• For greater trust in you, we pray. Your love is steadfast, and your word is true. Help us to hold onto your promises and walk in your ways.
• For creatures great and small, we pray. Tend to your creation and inspire us in efforts to protect and care for the earth.
• For elected officials at all levels, we pray. From local to state to national, help leaders listen to those most in need, and to make decisions grounded in wisdom and compassion for all people.
• For healing, we pray. Many are isolated or otherwise feel alone in this world. Bring them comfort and connection.
• For those who are experiencing loss, we pray. Draw near to those who have lost jobs, loved ones, or anything else dear to them. Grant them space to grieve, and uplift them in their sorrow.
• For all the saints, we pray. Help us to learn about their lives and their witness, and may their faithfulness inspire us in our time to lead faithful lives as well.

We surround with our prayers the family of Paul Piaskowy, father of Natalie Weiss, who passed on Friday, September 6.

These and all our prayers we lift up to you, O God. Amen.

Thank you for your individual parts in hosting Tom's funeral at GLC. Thank you for being in the details when our brains were overloaded or just not working. Thank you for being unflappable - answering every question we had, providing solutions and giving us peace of heart and mind. Thank you for praying us through the planning and actual funeral. Thank you for being the hands of Jesus and the feet of Jesus and walking us through the day. Grateful for all you do, Ruth
