Sunday morning, ICE agents picked up two individuals in Ossining near our community center. With heartfelt disappointment, I must speak out against the recent actions of ICE in our community. Their tactics sow fear, target the most vulnerable among us, and fracture the trust we work so hard to build. Our federal government agencies should and can be better than this. Our community deserves safety, dignity, and respect—not intimidation. We stand firmly with our neighbors, children, and parents who are living in fear and will continue to protect the values of inclusion and compassion that define who we are.
Know your rights: “Red Cards” that explain your legal rights during encounters with ICE are available for free at Village Hall, the Ossining Public Library, and through Neighbors Link.
Please find linked below (in English & Spanish) an ICE privacy release form which will allow third parties to formally inquire with DHS/ICE about a detainee. The form must be filled out by the detainee, and it can be filled out in advance.
