Hey Friends

As you now have read, Kanuga has cancelled our weekend as they have already experienced some effects of last night's storm with more expected in the next day or so.

Even as we are sad to miss this special time away together, we will make the best of it right here this Sunday with a "Kanuga Lite" or "Kanuga Staycation".

Here is the plan:

-Sleep late!

-Come in your Kanuga garb to a Campfire and S'mores at 10:15

(sweats, flannels, water boots, shorts, t-shirts, mountain clothes!)

Parents can go into Ellis and hear Scott Lamlein share about his j

journey and what he has planned for our Music Department and

Adult Choirs.

-Go together to 11:15 service. I will have a short Children's Church, we will

go up together from the courtyard and join parents at the peace.

-Scavenger Hunt right after service - meet in the courtyard.

-Lite sandwich lunch while we wait for the judges decision on who won the

scavenger hunt!

And we hold all those in the path of the storm near in our prayers.

Youth News

No Youth Formation

The Kanuga weekend being cancelled doesn't mean we can't enjoy the spirit of Kanuga! Come join us for a S'mores party, scavanger hunt and a lunch! All youth activities are on break until next week.

Youth Vestry

The Youth Vestry is a leadership council of ten youth that casts a vision for the youth program and for the youth’s engagement with the broader parish. The vestry includes one representative from each component of the youth program (morning formation, SNL, acolytes, and other worship leaders, a member of the social media guild) and from each grade level (9th-12th plus an “at large” member). The vestry meets once a semester (fall, spring, and summer) for a pre-scheduled Zoom meeting to discuss the state of the youth program and envision what’s next. They may be called upon at times throughout the program year to meet for a brief Zoom call to discuss a particular matter.

9th Grade Overnight to Koinonia Farm in Americus GA

9th graders join us on the new overnight Koinonia Farm trip October 18th-19th. Koinonia Farm is a Christian community and intentional farming project founded in 1942 by Clarence Jordan, a prominent advocate for racial equality and social justice! The farm emphasizes principles of cooperation, sharing, and inclusivity, aiming to bring together people of different backgrounds. Koinonia is known for its role in the civil rights movement, serving as a hub for activists and a model of racial integration during a time of significant tension in the South.

Wednesday nights 5-7pm, we would love to see you there!
