Hello! We hope the Fall 2022 quarter is going well for you. Here are important updates and information from the International Students & Programs Office (ISPO).

FA22 Office Hours

ISPO's office hours are Monday through Friday from 9am-4pm. We offer a variety of in-person and remote services including in-person Front Desk, Zoom Advising, In-person advising by appointment, phone advising, email, and webinars. Our office is located in Student Center B—on the corner of Gilman Drive and Mandeville Lane. Visit iContact for more information about our in-person and remote advising hours. 

Staff Updates 

Congratulations to our team members, who were either recently promoted into new roles or joined ISPO during the past several months. 

• Kyle Argonza was recently promoted to International Student Advisor from Intake Advisor in June.  
• Jessica Boyle joined ISPO in September as an International Student Advisor. 
• Karina Ivanyan was recently promoted to Intake Advisor in June. 
• Felicia Young joined ISPO in June as an Intake Advisor.

Advising Resources 

• Fall and Winter Break: For students traveling outside of the U.S., they will need a valid passport, valid I-20 or DS-2019 with current travel signature, and valid F-1 or J-1 visa. For more information, ISPO is offering in-person Travel Signature Sessions and a comprehensive website at iTravel. For those staying in San Diego, we compiled useful Fall and Winter Break guides featuring suggested activities. 

Students experiencing travel emergencies or re-entering the U.S. during the Fall and Winter Break closure can also contact ISPO at iStudents@ucsd.edu or call the After Hours Emergency Line at 858-534-4357. 

• Employment After Graduation: Students who are graduating from UC San Diego are eligible to work in the United States from 12-36 months. For more information, ISPO is offering in-person workshop on 12/15 and comprehensive website at iEmployment. 
• Transitioning iContact email to ServiceNow in Winter 2023: ISPO will transition the iContact email account to ServiceNow in Winter 2023 in order to better meet the needs of students and campus partners. More details to come.
