Please make sure that the information in your account is current.

Here are a few important reminders to HSA Account Holders:

  1. It’s imperative that you have access to manage your Health Savings Account online.  Please REGISTER today
  2. When you have logged in to your account, make sure that we have the correct Heath Plan coverage status: SINGLE or FAMILY.  This information will determine the maximum amount that can be contributed to your account during the current calendar year.
  3. For added security, we recommend that you update your password every 3 months.
  4. Once you’ve accessed your account, click USER PROFILE to make sure that all of your personal information is correct.
  5. It’s important to review your beneficiary information regularly to ensure that it is up-to-date.
  6. For greater convenience, download our mobile app (add logo for mobile app).   You can view your account, download tax statements (Forms 5498 SA and 1099 SA), process disbursements, and deposit contributions - our mobile app has multiple capabilities to help you manage your HSA! But first, you will need to register your account online before you can log into the mobile app.
  7. If you have a question that needs to be answered quickly, log in to your account and chat with us.

What will Happen to the Money in my Health Savings Account (HSA) When I Die?

The funds in your Health Savings Account are like any other valuable financial asset that will be transferred to your designated account beneficiaries on your death.  If you haven’t done so, please submit Sterling’s Beneficiary Designation Form and update the information regularly to make sure that the funds remaining in your account are distributed according to your wishes.

Leveraging Technology to Enhance your Experience

Sterling is continuing to integrate technology into our administration services.  Our FSA and HRA account holders can take advantage of self-service online tools to access and manage their account easily and quickly, anytime they wish.

We have recently automated and streamlined the FSA and HRA online account registration and claim submission processes.  First, you will need to register to have online access to your account.  Once you’ve done this, you will have access to your FSA or HRA account to submit claims for reimbursement. The following videos demonstrate the steps to follow.

Rollover of FSA Funds

We want to remind you that Healthcare FSA and Limited Purpose FSA rollovers are not processed automatically after a run-out.  They are generally processed 3-4 weeks from the end of the run-out period.   Sterling’s system is currently processing claims two weeks from the run-out period.

This is also a reminder to FSA funding groups that after the plan and rollover/run-out is complete, Sterling will process a cash audit on the closing plan year.  Those audits do not process until at least 4-6 weeks from the final report.  For most, this will mean a time during the summer.
