PEACE ON EARTH, GOOD WILL TO ALL
I know peace during December can sound like a far-off wish. There is a lot to do this time of year, from decorating to entertaining to buying the perfect presents. This can be as complicated or easy as we make it. The decision is in our hands. Traditions can be simplified or changed, and the world will not fall apart!

December Mission of the Month:
CSSH CODE BLUE
| | | |
Our mission for the month of December is the Coalition to Shelter and Support the Homeless (CSSH). CSSH is the nonprofit that runs Code Blue for Central Bucks. Code Blue is a program that offers overnight shelter, dinner, breakfast, and a bag lunch for the homeless in our area. The shelter is open when the temperature is below 28 degrees. Code Blue runs from December to March, with a different church hosting each month. CSSH also holds a monthly meal throughout the year for the homeless in our community. The CSSH opened the doors for 85 nights during the 2024/2025 season and provided shelter to 100 different individuals, representing a 37% increase from the previous year - this is impactful!

DUMC Community Dinner - Thank you!
What a fabulous evening! We served approximately 120 people at our Thanksgiving Eve Community Meal. Over 50 leftover trays were packed by our guests and 58 Caring for Friends meals were made with all of the leftover food. We even have food in the freezer that we can make additional meals out of.
Thank you to everyone who donated all of the wonderful food we enjoyed this evening. A special thank you to Jim Dodaro and his crew: Craig Wurst, Jeff Stevens, John Vavala, and George, for cooking. Jim was at the church at 9:00 am and was still there when we started serving at 6:00 pm. Thanks also to all who set up, served, and cleaned up.
Thank you also to Randy Hume for driving the Code Blue van to transport some of our attendees.
What a wonderful giving and caring congregation we have at DUMC.
Our December meal will be on New Years Eve (Wednesday, December 31 at 6:00 pm). Let's ring in 2026 together with a traditional Church Potluck. We can even do our own count down and ball drop! Hope to see you all there.
Happy Holidays!
Best,
Cindy
