Dear Friends,
August is one of those months where the beginning and end have such a noticeable difference. At the beginning we are faced with the "lazy days of summer", followed by the cooler evenings and then the cycle of the school year. Even for those of us, not in school or tied to a "first day of school" event, it seems the cycle still exists. Pondering today, what the end of August will look like, I will enjoy the rest of these days, and see what August brings later in the month. Hope you all enjoy the rest of this month
It is exciting to think about the upcoming 40th Anniversary Celebration. Photos are being scanned, talks are being developed and friends are gathering together. Please see the details included below and plan to join us on September 11, 2022. We are planning lots of ways to remember and celebrate. You won't want to miss it.
Time is running out to apply for the internship in Spiritual Direction / Companioning. This two year program is offered in the even years. The 2022 class is forming now. If you applied already, the team is reviewing your applications. If you are thinking about applying, there is still time left to submit your application. Classes start in the Fall. Read more about the opportunity HERE and contact lhudkins@spiritlifectr.org for more information.
If you are not meeting with a Spiritual Companion or if you paused your practice when we shifted to mostly on-line sessions, consider if this is a good time to engage. There are options for in-person as well as virtual sessions. Please see below for details.
"The reality is that this is how you know if you're getting closer to God: more kindness, more gentleness, more joy, more peace, more patience."
--Matt Brown, Awakening
As a reminder, if you have an original poem, reflection or artwork you'd like to share as part of the The Source, please submit a word document to Jane Virgilio at jvirgilio@spiritlifectr.org. More details below. Thanks to those who have already submitted.

Curious about what this program can offer that will benefit your secular and spiritual life? The core of Buddhist practice is devoted to understanding reality so that we can see why we suffer. Furthermore, its principals are the basis for the Mystics of every spiritual tradition. I think you’ll see that this tradition is compatible with any religious belief, or with none at all.
This is an EXPERIENTIAL program, not a set of lectures. We’ll meditate together, contemplate how we needlessly struggle, and glimpse the future that could be ours if we two desire.
Program begins Tuesday, September 6th at 7:00 PM for 6 weeks, running until October 18th.
