We Help Families Start Over

Hello New Life Warehouse Friends! Thank you for helping us serve so many local families in need. We've had an incredible increase in need and we try very hard to serve every family in the best way possible. The increased demand taxes our supplies, so we are very grateful for groups like Kids for a Cause, who collected items for us in August, and for students like Emilio Plaud (see article below). If you can encourage your family and friends to donate, we always need pots and pans, sheets and towels, small garbage cans, lamps and hygiene items. These donations help us make sure every family we serve has the basic necessities to help them start over.

We are now only TWO months away from our annual fundraiser, and tickets are now on sale! Mark your calendars - our Home for the Holidays Fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, November 6th at Soiree Estates in Lutz. See the article below for ticket sales and sponsorship opportunities, as well as chances to donate auction items.

Changing Lives One Family at a Time

John Stream has volunteered with New Life Warehouse for many years. He shared this about his most recent delivery experience:

"New Life Warehouse is such an amazing organization!!!! Today we got to deliver to a mom and her two children.

Air mattress, infant mattress and kitchen table. That’s it.

Two hours later ……. A whole new home!!! William Kenny, myself and two ladies who were first time participants delivered, assembled, organized and decorated their home.

Simply amazing! maybe it was dust or something but there were drops of water coming from our eyes when the kids were so overjoyed and yelled out loud ….. I love my new house!

May God Bless New Life Warehouse and everyone who donates furniture, household supplies, decorations and money. And the volunteers who pull, stage and help load …… you are angels!!!"

Thank you John, for being a part of our New Life Warehouse Family.

Auction Items Needed for Our Fundraiser

We are currently seeking donations of unique experiences, gift certificates, vacation stays, event tickets, merchandise, and themed packages for our silent and live auctions.

Past favorites have included:

• Vacation home or weekend getaway stays

• Tickets to sporting events, concerts, theater performances or local attractions

• Restaurant and entertainment gift certificates

• Golf, spa or other special experiences

• Themed gift baskets and packages

• Unique merchandise, services or experiences

Have another great idea? We’d love to hear it! Individual items can also be combined with other donations to create larger auction packages.

Every item donated helps us raise funds to furnish homes for local families recovering from homelessness. Through New Life Warehouse, families receive the beds, furniture and household essentials they need to turn an empty house into a home and begin a new chapter with dignity and hope.

If you, your business, or someone you know would be willing to contribute an item or experience, we would be incredibly grateful for your support.

Emilio Delivers!

Emilio Alvarez Plaud was a busy young man this summer. He worked on a project that benefited NLW and agreed to be interviewed for our newsletter:

Q: Tell us about your project.

A: So basically this is a project for the IB program at Alonso high and I essentially have to demonstrate that I can withstand leadership roles through service. I chose New Life Warehouse because I love the impact you guys make on the lives of countless families that are starting from nothing and I wanted to be a part of that, and i realized that I want to continue making an impact beyond the project. As part of the project, I drive to houses and receive donations, and from there I go to you guys and drop them off.

Q: How did you communicate to your neighbors that you were collecting for NLW?

A: First I made and printed some fliers and put them on doors, as well as calling friends/family and having them get their friends and family to help me receive items.

Q: What kind of items did your neighbors and friends and family donate?

A: They donated a lot of items, they donated lots of bedding, lamps, kitchenware, shower curtains, little shelves, tables, and there will be more to come such as a tv.

Q: You also volunteered in the warehouse as part of Teen Tuesdays. What did you do in the warehouse?

A: At the warehouse the job given to me was making lamps, two other teens and I assembled lamps and found shades that looked best with those lamps, it was kind of fun actually because I had to get a little creative.

Thank you Emilio, for working so hard for NLW and bringing SIX car loads of donations this summer. We hope you have a wonderful year at school!

Betel's Birthday Surprise

Betel Tafesse asked for an unusual gift for her recent birthday. Instead of asking for a party, she asked for her family and friends to go volunteer somewhere together. That somewhere was New Life Warehouse. So out they came in force, maybe not fully realizing what they were getting into!

But they had a wonderful time serving together and helping two families start over.

Betel shared this about her deliveries:

"Two powerful deliveries, one unforgettable day of community impact!

We had an incredible day with the crew delivering to two wonderful families. From helping 'Jenny's' family reunify with their grandmother to creating a safe sanctuary for 'Cindy's' family, every piece of furniture assembled brought immense relief and hope. Grateful to be a small part of their new beginnings!"

Thank you Betel, for choosing New Life Warehouse, and Happy Birthday!

Volunteer Spotlight - Aaron Gross

Do you ever meet someone and you can just tell that they are a natural born leader? Well, Aaron Gross is that guy.

Aaron has been volunteering with us for over four years and he has made a huge impact for the families in the Tampa Bay area. At least once a week you’ll find him out doing deliveries with the other weekday volunteers. He is definitely a spiritual leader on these deliveries, but he also totes big heavy furniture upstairs, which is super helpful! He is inspiring and encouraging, and involved in our weekly Bible study here at the warehouse.

Thank you, Aaron for always being willing to help out and to make these deliveries - more than just delivering furniture but also delivering the love of Jesus.
