Maine State Bar Association Seeks Proposals
for Summer Bar Conference
As part of MSBA’s 135th anniversary year, we’re beginning to shape the program for one of our favorite traditions — the Summer Bar Conference. This is a quick reminder that we’re still accepting proposals, and we’d love your help in building this year’s program.
The 2026 Summer Bar Conference will be held June 24–26 at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, and we’re looking for ideas to make the programming timely, practical, and engaging.
One of the things that makes this event special is learning from our own members. For 135 years, MSBA has been built on members sharing their knowledge and supporting one another — and the Summer Bar Conference is one of the best examples of that. If you have experience, insight, or a fresh perspective that could benefit your colleagues, we encourage you to submit a proposal and join us as a presenter.
We’re especially interested in programs that are:
- Practical and relevant to today’s practice
- Focused on emerging issues or new developments
- Useful for attorneys at any stage of their careers
Priority topic areas include:
- Artificial intelligence and the practice of law (ethics, risks, opportunities, real-world use, client expectations, etc.)
- Attorney wellness — emotional, physical, social, occupational, or professional well-being
- Substantive law updates and emerging trends across practice areas
- Ideas that connect to the United States’ 250th anniversary (constitutional themes, the evolution of the profession, access to justice, or historical perspectives that inform modern practice)
If your proposal is selected, you may be eligible for presenter CLE credit, and presenters who attend the conference receive a discounted registration rate.
How to submit: Email a proposed title and a brief, one-paragraph description to Molly Rogers at mrogers@mainebar.org. Please also indicate whether your program may qualify for Ethics or Harassment & Discrimination credit. All proposals must be submitted by March 18, 2026.
If you have questions, Molly is happy to help at (207) 622-7523.
Thanks for being part of MSBA’s 135 years — and for helping us keep the tradition of members learning from members going strong.
