Summer 2025 Campus Updates

Even though we’re on summer break, our Administration, Business Office, Main Office, and Advancement teams (and, of course, the incredible Maintenance staff), are still here preparing for the 2025-26 school year.

Last week we welcomed new colleagues for their first days on campus: Mr. David Gockowski (Director of Lower School) and Mr. Mike Fellrath (Accounting Associate). There’s a lot of important but often “hidden” work that happens in the summer – thank you to our summer crews who make it all happen! Please enjoy a few photos from around campus, which also include a few updates on facilities projects to improve the experience of our students and faculty, as well as maintain our classic buildings!

The hedges and fence are gone…what will replace them?! More to come soon!

Gruden Gym is receiving the first treatment of a long-overdue facelift this summer!

The coffee never stops flowing at Saint Agnes--even in the summer! Pictured grabbing their freshly brewed liquid energy are: Mr. Karl Hendrickson (Director of Upper School) and Mrs. Sara Bruggemann (Events Coordinator).

Tabula Rasa! Our classroom floors are cleaned and waxed each summer, forcing everything into the hallways. Here Dr. Michael Adkins (Director of Academics) squeezes through on his way to his office.

Our Main Office remains a buzzing place in the summer! Pictured are: Mrs. Beth Morgan (Advancement Associate), Miss Angie Koenig (Main Office & Admin. Asst.), Mrs. Miriam Naughton (her last days as L.S. Director), and Mr. David Gockowski (incoming Lower School Director).

Welcome to Mr. Mike Fellrath, who joins our Business Office as an Accounting Associate. Pictured here are Mr. Fellrath and Mrs. Anne Peiris (Finance Manager).

"The Anxious Generation" Resource

Many of you have likely heard of Jonathan Haidt’s popular book, “The Anxious Generation”, which highlights the manifold issues caused by social media, cell phones, screen time, etc. on the mental health of everyone – but especially children and teens. While we’d all like time to read his book, not everyone has the luxury of tackling it. Haidt has generously summarized his book in a single YouTube video of about 45 minutes in length. We offer this resource to parents with the hopes that it helps families to plan intentional approaches to these challenging areas – well ahead of the 2025-26 school year. Summer is a great time to establish new routines - lots of wisdom in Haidt’s work!

Main Office Summer Hours

K-6 Summer Reading Challenge – 2025!

Summer is here! Below, we are offering some opportunities for students to continue reading and learning over the summer, supporting your students’ formation and education in faith, reason, and virtue! Continuing to read over the summer, and for the sake of leisure, is a key component to maintaining/strengthening a child’s attention-span and focus, as well as avoiding “summer slide”!

We are excited to promote the following summer reading opportunities for you and PreK-6 Summer Reading Lists from National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Note, we’ve adapted these lists as we see appropriate; that said, parents are encouraged to preview books to ensure their suitability.

Our Summer Reading Challenge 2025 has three versions for various age groups and prizes when minimum summer reading goals are met. Printed versions of the Summer Reading Challenge logs were handed out during school; you can also download them below:

Please contact Director of Academics, Dr. Michael Adkins if you have questions.
