I am Shilpa Pandey, the new Membership Development Chair for the US WILPF section and am excited to share with you At-Large Members around the US news that we are relaunching a new membership development committee. This committee is tasked with recruiting processes, training and skills building and the processes by which we welcome new members and keep them engaged.
My goal as Committee Chair is to find new ways to enhance the membership experience at WILPF US and help all kinds of members, including At-Large Members like you, realize more value from being a WILPF member. In order to do that we are inviting your participation in our national committee. You will get the opportunity to help redesign the way WILPF membership works!
Given the level of political and social fragmentation in the US right now, more and more women are looking for a way to unite with others to make a difference. It is imperative that we expand our outreach into the community and bring more and more like minded individuals into our fold and in order for us to reach that stage we must have a solid process that makes a new member not only feel welcome but also comfortable and confident in us as an organization.
Will you lend us the benefit of your At-Large Membership experiences to help us better plan an approach that is warmer, more inviting and one that offers benefits of membership including shared leadership in the membership development process? We're looking for streamlined policies and creative suggestions for skill-building.
I invite you to please JOIN US. Let us make use of your valuable ideas for growing WILPF and enhancing membership opportunities, training, leadership and skills-building. And you will help us shape policies that create an exciting future at WILPF. I'm inviting you to share leadership and work closely with some of the long time leaders of WILPF US.
The membership development committee will meet once a month, the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 8.30 -9.30 PM EST.
