Dear AltaMed Employee,
Thank you for joining the effort to defeat this pandemic. We are working tirelessly with our many health care agencies to attain additional COVID-19 vaccines for our employees, patients and community members.
Below, please find important information and updates about the vaccine process:
AltaMed Employees—2nd Dose Reminders
- At the time you received your first dose of the Moderna vaccine, you should have been scheduled for your second dose (28 days later) in Epic.
- Your appointment will take place at the same location as where you received your first dose.
- Prior to your second dose appointment, you will be sent a text and/or email reminder. Please do not miss your scheduled appointment.
Important Note: If you were one of the few who had symptoms of an immediate allergic reaction (such as anaphylaxis, loss of consciousness, hives, all over skin itching, all over redness, swelling of lips, tongue or eyelids, shortness of breath, wheezing, or low oxygen level) within four hours after receiving the first dose, please seek consultation with an immunologist prior to receiving your second dose.
AltaMed Employees—1st Dose Appointments
- We are currently waiting to receive additional vaccines. Once we have more, we will plan new dates and times for those employees who have not yet received the vaccine.
- As a health care employee, you can make an appointment to receive a vaccine through Los Angeles or Orange County Health Care Agencies (see below).
Los Angeles City and County Vaccination Appointments
-
Health care workers can make appointments for both their first and second doses on the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health website or the City of Los Angeles website.
- If you received your first dose through the County, please return to the County for your second dose as they have already accounted for second dose recipients.
- Make sure to receive the same manufacturer of the vaccine (i.e.: If you received the Pfizer vaccine for your first dose, your second dose should also be Pfizer).
Orange County Vaccination Appointments
-
Critical and heath care workers can make appointments for vaccines via the Orange County Health Care Agency website.
Send Proof to Employee Health
-
If you received your vaccine outside of AltaMed, please take a picture of the vaccine card and email it to Employee Health for documentation purposes.
Once again, we thank you for your continued patience and support of our vaccination efforts. We look forward to the opportunity to provide vaccines to more of our employees, our patients and community in general.
