Welcome back to “In Focus”! We are excited to share a couple of updates as we continue Phase 1 of the Stakeholder Engagement Process:

Phase 1 Progress Points:

  • As we continue to build a transparent, equitable, and inclusive process, our staff is working with GBSM to build a fact sheet with an accompanying FAQ section for the Road to Reauthorization webpage, which will cover everything from the process structure to early learnings from Phase 1 efforts and more.
  • Additionally, we’ve added a timeline graphic to the webpage so that the process is easier to follow from start to finish – please help us share these updates with your networks. This webpage as well as our newsletters are the best places to get ongoing information about the Stakeholder Engagement Process and ways to get involved.
  • Phase 1, Research & Landscape Analysis, is actively underway, with analysis of SCFD’s comprehensive financial data currently under review. GBSM is also completing initial information interviews with a range of community members in all three tiers. Feedback from these interviews will be used to design and shape Phase 2, the upcoming District-Wide Listening Tour.
  • Save the Date! Road to Reauthorization Webinar: As we continue with Phase 1 and begin looking towards Phase 2, we'll be hosting a webinar on the morning of March 25, 2026 to share updates on the process, answer frequently asked questions, and orient you to resources about reauthorization. We will send out additional information in an e-blast and post the link on our website in the coming weeks.

As a reminder, we highly encourage your participation in this listening tour and the wider process, as it is the most direct and effective way to share your thoughts about SCFD’s current structure with the GBSM project team. The statute has complexity that must be carefully analyzed as a complete model, so we are asking everyone involved to join us in a unified path over the next two years so all ideations can be included at the appropriate points in the analysis and decision making. Our collective impact is the highest priority!

We are grateful in advance for your feedback and partnership in this process as we work together to build a stronger SCFD.

Engage With Us

Thanks for Attending SCFD Day at the Capitol!

On February 24, we were joined by more than 200 people in the Capitol's West Foyer for SCFD Day in Colorado! The morning began with celebrations of SCFD in the House and Senate chambers for legislators and a lovely performance of the national anthem in the House by Young Voices of Colorado. The legislative session was followed by interactive grantee exhibits for all by Butterfly Pavilion, CherryArts, Colorado Fine Arts Association, Downtown Aurora Visual Arts, HawkQuest, Ocean First Institute, Mr. Bones from the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, and our community partner, CBCA. Thanks for your continued support of arts, culture, and science!

Welcome to Dominick Moreno

We’d like to welcome Dominick Moreno as the Adams County appointee to the SCFD Board of Directors! Dominick Moreno grew up attending public schools where he graduated valedictorian while working afternoons at the local Dairy Queen. Through scholarships and part-time jobs, he attended Georgetown University and graduated with a degree in American Government. Dominick quickly moved back to the home he loves — Colorado — where he combined his education and commitment to public service. At the age of 24, Dominick was elected to city council in Commerce City – the youngest member in city history. Dominick went on to represent parts of Adams County in the Colorado House of Representatives for two terms before being elected to the Colorado Senate in 2016. He was selected by colleagues to serve on the esteemed Joint Budget Committee, the principal committee tasked with balancing Colorado’s $36 billion state budget each year and chaired the committee twice. Dominick served as Majority Leader of the Colorado Senate from February 2022 through September 2023, when he resigned to accept an appointment as Deputy Chief of Staff in the administration of Denver Mayor Mike Johnston. In his current role, Dominick leads legislative and policy initiatives at the local, regional, state and federal levels. Learn more about Dominick here.

Farewell to Eva Henry and Suzanne Crawford

We want to extend a fond farewell to two of our board members, Eva Henry and Suzanne Crawford.

Eva Henry served for one term as the Adams County board representative. Her passion for advocating for arts, culture, and science in her home county and beyond was key in sparking conversations about collaboration and innovation on the board.

Suzanne Crawford served two terms as Broomfield County’s representative and served one term as the Treasurer of the board. Prior to her service on the board, she also served on the Broomfield County Cultural Council! Suzanne’s attention to detail and financial prowess made financial reporting a breeze, and her curiosity and passion for local arts were paramount to her work on the board.

Thank you, Eva and Suzanne! We can’t wait to see the ways these wonderful women continue to support Culture For All here in the district and beyond.
