Missions Monthly Report : August

In August, the disciples and congregation of Grace Covenant were involved in all these missions projects. On behalf of the Missions and Outreach committee, thank you for sharing your time, talents, energy, and money to help our community and beyond.


"And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward." ~ Matthew 10:42


Soup Kitchen, August: Team B - "Super Soupers"; Captain James Jennings, served 90 meals + seconds.

plus all those who contributed desserts: Mary Starnes, Joyce Jennings, Gail Knowles, Diane Cody, Spence Hughes, Becky Godbey.


Communion Food Collection, August 4: You gave 271 hot cereal packets, 26 boxes of mac & cheese, 13 bags of rice, 9 boxes of pasta, 8 boxes of cold cereal, 5 jars of jelly, 3 jars of peanut butter, 1 bag of noodles, 1 box of pancake mix box. 1 bag of beans and 1 box of pop tarts to the Center for Community Services and delivered by our faithful driver, Kim Calhoun. "The crew at the center was very appreciative of this generous delivery."


Habitat for Humanity: Eight people from Grace Covenant – Don Amey, Grant Banks, Bruce Dwyer, Steven Huskey, Norm St. John, Charlie Wolfe and his friend Amber Cox, and Michael Wolfe – worked on the latest Habitat build on Saturday, August 10. We installed closet shelving, door knobs, baseboard trim, and did some paint-ing. Lunch was provided by Linda & Paul Cossaboon.


Justice Ministry:  Stephanie Norton purchased $239.56 worth of back-to-school items for Poplar Spring’s “Back to School Bash”, using money from the Racial Justice Fund. The congregation donated items as well. The items were used to fill backpacks for needy students.


Other M+O projects:


We contributed $500 to the Rise Against Hunger project at Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
