Please don't hesitate to reach out to us as we all navigate these unprecedented times together. There is no rule book, no set path, and our goal always is to be a conduit of useful information to keep resources and options at your fingertips so you can make the best decision possible for your business. Your well being is our top priority and please know from the bottom of our hearts, we mean that. If there are specific types of support you need during this time, contact us.
We are working daily with national, statewide, regional and local constituents to stay in the know. We value and rely on these relationships more than ever. We are inspired and made hopeful by the outreach and support we have seen in our community and grateful for the silver lining - the pandemic situation is during our 'mud season' that hopefully lessens some of the impacts. With the passing of the Federal CARES Act, we are seeing doors open up. Read below for more information on current novel coronavirus updates.

UNIVERSITY OF IDAHO & MCCALL CHAMBER TEAM UP FOR BUSINESS OUTREACH
|
|
The McCall chamber will be partnering with UI Extension, Valley County, to feature a business of the week interview program during the pandemic.
If you are a business interested in participating, please reach out to
Director, Lindsey Harris.
Businesses will be featured on a first come, first serve basis. This is an effort for the McCall Chamber to stay connected with our vital business community and utilize the resources of the UI Extension Office, Valley County.
Interviews will be conducted via Zoom, so a computer, strong internet connection, and a quiet space is needed for a quality video. Participants will need to share a brief entertaining and educational piece related to their business (show us what you do!), followed by a conversation about how the community can support them during COVID-19.
The goal is to cultivate ingenuity for a business, provide support, and problem solve technology challenges along the way. The videos will run through the end of April during the pilot program
and be posted to
UI Extension, Valley County
and
McCall Area Chamber’s
social media.
This program will be revisited at the end of this time frame to determine success / interest. Thank you for your willingness to participate in this opportunity.
Together we can!

We have come across some great webinars specific to small businesses and the pandemic that we wanted to share with you.
Destinations International "Corona Virus Updates"
:
Destinations International is joined by Amir Eylon with Longwoods International for a Coronavirus Benchmark Study and Andreas Weissenborn with Destinations International who presented their results from their recent Coronavirus Member Survey.
The survey was taken on March 10-11, so we understand a lot has changed since then; however, we still were encouraged by the stats they provided regarding people's opinions of future travel. Their data suggests strong domestic travel and we have hopes that will bode well for us.

Idaho Shirts
Launches Campaign to Give Back to Local Restaurants
We want to give a shout out to local business Idaho Shirts, sister company of Printshop McCall, who took it upon themselves to help our local restaurants they saw struggling with the pandemic. They have created the hashtag #IdahoStrong and for every piece of awesome apparel they sell, the buyer receives a $10 to a local restaurant of their choice and all net proceeds benefit that restaurant. They write:
"You can help small businesses RIGHT NOW. We are raising funds to help keep our restaurant friends alive. Buy this shirt. Get a $10 gift card to the restaurant of your choice. All net proceeds go to the restaurant you pick and the Idaho Foodbank. Free shipping. Sanitized, premium eco-printed tees.

2020 Census Begins this Month
|
|
We understand our minds are preoccupied right now, but this month kicks-off the 2020 Census, a citizen survey for Americans that takes place every 10 years. The McCall Area Chamber, along with all entities in Valley County, encourage all of us to participate in the census and to help disseminate to all of our employees. All of us taking the few minutes to take the survey provides vital funding for our area. The other neat part of the Census? It helps keep us thinking forward, looking to our futures, and hope for what is to come.
Your response matters.
Health clinics. Fire departments. Schools. Even roads and highways. The census can shape many different aspects of your community.
The results of the 2020 Census will help determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding flow into communities every year for the next decade. That funding shapes many different aspects of every community, no matter the size, no matter the location.

Be Proactive and Register for Absentee Vote this May
|
|
Our great State of Idaho has acted quickly for our May elections and encouraging all of us to register for absentee voting to ensure we all have the opportunity to vote!
Due to the current concerns related to the novel coronavirus, the Idaho Secretary of State’s office is encouraging voters in Idaho to vote absentee for the May 19, 2020 Primary Election.
|
|
In additional to our incredible medical community, we want to acknowledge our grocery stores, their managers, and their staff who have endured so much and been at the front lines. We want each and every one of you to know how much we deeply appreciate all of you.
***If you haven't thanked your healthcare provider or local grocery store employee today, relay your gratitude on your next visit. Know one personally? Send them a text.
