September is Healthy Aging Month

While older adults are at higher risk for eye diseases like age-related macular degeneration (AMD), getting older does not have to mean losing your vision. That’s why it’s important to spread the word about ways to prevent vision loss in older adults and support healthy aging.

Have extra readers or non-prescription sunglasses at home? Please donate them to the clinic!

Happen to find some on sale while you're out shopping?

We'll happily accept them too!

Please save any coupons you find in your mailers for eye glasses. FLLEC collects these as well for patients.

Our patients truly appreciate all of the help they can get!

Speaking of glasses...

Our friends at Eye Associates of Fort Myers are running a glasses drive for FLLEC! They are giving 15% off new frames if you donate a pair of old glasses! Please see below!

Your contributions help us help people see, and we can't do it without you!

Want to make an online donation but unsure how? We'd be happy to help you process it! The clinic accepts credit cards, checks and cash.

Did you know you can set up recurring donations? Our supporters enjoy setting up monthly payments to the clinic. This helps especially during quieter months of giving, especially during the summer time! You can do so through our PayPal or ask us how!

"Under the SEE"

When FLLEC's Director of Development & Marketing, Miranda Escobar, came across Summer DeSalvo's work online, she immediately envisioned transforming the clinic into a wonderland for patients. The old jungle mural in the waiting area was worn out after many years, and needed some TLC. Miranda ran a small campaign to raise funds for the mural, and once it was done, she and her mother, Loretta, painted the rest of the waiting area to match!

FLLEC is now "Under the SEE" thanks to our generous donors and the amazing work of Summer DeSalvo with Summadaze Murals!

This is a very special gift to our patients and we couldn't have done it without you. The clinic looks amazing and we are so proud to show it off! The patients (especially the kids) love it so much already!

Thank you so much for donating to the FLLEC Mural Fund! Summer did a great job personalizing the mural with a lion fish, gave one of our turtles a pair of glasses, and if you look closely at one of our jellyfish you'll find the names of our mural donors!

Congratulations to the new

Dr. & Mrs. Michael Gressel!

Our Clinic Operations Manager, Olivia Peña, had the honor of marrying Mike & Shelley on August 26th, and the FLLEC family was excited to be there to witness this special event! It was a beautiful wedding!

We wish you many years of love and happiness!

As if we didn't appreciate Dr. Gressel enough for generously volunteering his time every Friday in our clinic seeing Glaucoma patients, he and Shelley encouraged their friends and family to donate to the Florida Lions Eye Clinic in their honor in lieu of gifts! We are so grateful for the generosity of the Gressel's friends and family!

FLLEC received donations in the amount of $2,700 in honor of their love. What a fantastic gift to the clinic and our patients!

***Did you know? The Florida Lions Eye Clinic and all of the Lions Clubs are completely separate entities / nonprofits. The Florida Lions Eye Clinic was founded by retired Ophthalmologists and Lions Club members, under separate tax IDs. Although we are not the same, we are fortunate to have the support from the Bonita Springs Lions Club, sharing the same campus as them, and we are always grateful for the amazing collaborations and support felt between the two awesome organizations! So many Lions Clubs give generously to the clinic so we can continue our mission to help our underserved community and prevent blindness!
