Great Entertainment Planned for 2026 Sunnyfest!

Featuring country music artists George Birge and Scoot Teasley

The Town of Sunnyvale is excited to host two rising stars in country music who will take the stage for the Town’s Sunnyfest Celebration on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Austin, Texas native George Birge will bring his musical style to Sunnyfest, along with Georgia’s own Scoot Teasley, who was a hit with local crowds at last year’s event. Their unique musical talents will be part of a great evening of live music, fireworks, drone show, food and family fun. The Sunnyfest Celebration will begin at 5 p.m. at Town Center Park, 356 E. Tripp Road. Admission is FREE!

The Town of Sunnyvale is excited to have RECORDS Nashville artist-songwriter George Birge headline Sunnyfest 2026! The Austin native has seen great success with his hit songs, “Mind on You” and “Cowboy Songs,” both of which topped the Country radio charts. His acclaimed catalog also includes his breakout 2023 debut album “George Birge: Mind on You.” Birge’s recent milestones also include amassing 217 million global streams to date, appearing on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and earning a nomination at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Sunnyvale is happy to have country music artist Scoot Teasley return for Sunnyfest 2026! Blending classic Southern storytelling with modern hip-hop and soul influences, Scoot is one of country music’s exciting new voices. Praised by Billboard as a “must-hear” and picked up by CMT’s Next Up Now artist. His EP Country Back cemented his reputation as one of Nashville’s most exciting new voices, earning him a spot on Nashville Briefing’s “25 Artists to Watch” list. His newest single, "The Good News Is," will be out 6/12 on all platforms.

As part of the festivities, the Town of Sunnyvale invited area vocalists to audition to sing the National Anthem during the event. The Town selected Grapevine Police Officer Willie Lain to perform the song from the stage.

After great music, the night will wrap up with a fantastic fireworks show and a drone show featuring the fabulous drone work of Sky Elements, a 2024 “America's Got Talent” finalist. The festivities will also include all kinds of family fun, including bounce houses, a train ride, games, food vendors and more to help celebrate America’s freedom and the great community spirit of Sunnyvale!

Weekly Pets and Fourth of July Tips

As Fourth of July approaches, we have several tips to ensure your pets are safe and comfortable during the celebrations:

Consider tiring your pet out before the events by playing with them or walking them through the park. Exercise and mental stimulation can tire your pet out and make them sleepy or relaxed enough to ignore the fireworks.

Be sure to create an escape-free and comfortable home environment for your pet. Using curtains to shade the windows or having a white noise maker can help muffle the loud booms of fireworks.

For more info on keeping pets happy during the celebrations, visit: American Veterinary Medical Association

Meet Beau, a three-year-old male terrier. He is a handsome 60-pound Terrier/Bulldog mix with a heart twice his size.

He meets everyone with a wagging tail. Whether you are welcoming guests or meeting strangers on a walk, Beau treats everyone like a lifelong friend. He combines the sturdy, loyal presence of a Bulldog with the alert intelligence of a Terrier.

Beau is past the hectic puppy phase and is looking for a comfortable place to settle down. He simply needs a loving family to cherish him for the rest of his days. He would make an excellent fit for families, solo adopters, or seniors looking for a steady, loving companion.

We would love for you to share this with others and bring awareness to the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter's animals and services. If your family is ready to add a member, we currently have many adoptable animals in our shelter looking for a new place to call home. Comprehensive Plan - Core Elements Open House Recap

More than 50 stakeholders and community members gathered at Town Hall on June 16 for the Comprehensive Plan Core Elements Open House event. Attendees had the opportunity to review the draft Comprehensive Plan's preliminary core elements, ask questions, and engage directly with the project team and Town staff.

The evening yielded insightful feedback, including ideas for future housing, community amenities, and infrastructure priorities.

Following the success of the Open House, the project team and Town staff will dive straight into the next steps of the planning process. During the coming weeks, the team will carefully review community input to incorporate into the draft core elements while also developing the Introduction, Community Profile, and Implementation chapters of the Comprehensive Plan.

The revised Draft Imagine Sunnyvale Comprehensive Plan will be presented at another open house event and begin the adoption process later this year. Stay tuned to the project website for updates.
