Intern Farewell: Celebrating a Year of Energy, Ideas, and Extra Love!
|
As the school season draws to a close, we bid a fond farewell to our incredible interns from Herron School of Art, Butler University, IU, and UINDY. Their boundless energy and innovative ideas have enriched our center, and our guests have cherished engaging with them. We're grateful for our strong relationships with these universities, allowing us to not only impart knowledge to students but also share extra love with our guests.
Brooklyn, our PR intern wrote this:
As my Marketing Intern at Still Waters Adult Day Center comes to an end, I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude for these past months!
Since last October, I've had the privilege of diving headfirst into the world of marketing. From designing promotional materials, to collaborating on social media strategies, and gaining insights into the intricacies of our website redesign, every step of the journey has been incredible.
Yesterday marked the culmination of an unforgettable chapter as we celebrated the Preparing to Age Expo. Working closely with Cheryl Curry since January, we took great pride in our collaboration with 56 remarkable businesses including the Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter, CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions, CenterWell Home Health and many more. We also welcomed Darin Smith, MBA, PMP, CSA, Todd Wagner, and Lisa Beale as guest speakers who were all truly inspiring! The Expo was a resounding success, a testament to the dedication and teamwork of everyone involved.
I owe a debt of gratitude to Cheryl Curry for her mentorship and unwavering support throughout this journey. Her guidance has been invaluable, and I loved learning from her every day. I'm equally thankful to Diana Keely and Deb Harlamert for entrusting me with meaningful responsibilities and creating an environment of growth. Finally, I want to thank all of the talented CNA's and volunteers at Still Waters for being so kind to me in this journey.
Though bittersweet, I leave with a heart full of memories that will last a lifetime. The Preparing to Age Expo was not just an event; it was a milestone in my career journey. Planning an event of this scale for the first time was exhilarating, and I cherished every moment of it. Thank you, Still Waters Adult Day Center, for an unforgettable experience.
Our interns bring fresh perspectives, boundless energy, and endless inspiration to our center, making every day brighter!

Join the Brotherhood: Introducing Our New Men's Group at Still Waters!
|
|
Introducing our new Men's Group at Still Waters! Twice a month, our male guests gather for a special lunch with a past caregiver and church member, fostering camaraderie and connection among our attendees. Since its inception, our Men's Group has flourished, with a growing number of men joining us at the center. One caregiver shared with us the heartwarming story of her husband, who eagerly anticipates his days at Still Waters, even waking up at 5 am to join his friends. It's stories like these that inspire us to continue providing a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and appreciated.
