Can a Gifted Child have Behavior Problems? Does my Child Need to be Great at School to be Gifted?

Gifted children have an increased aptitude for learning information, but they are still humans, children at that. There is nothing that says a gifted child is a perfect child who never argues, forgets, fidgets, or gets nervous.

Actually, the opposite is true. Often, a gifted child is a sensitive individual who can absorb a great deal of information from the world. A child's school experience can be a fire hose of information, and a gifted child is able to catch more of the water than usual, but still, there is more stimuli than can be processed.

If you have a highly sensitive child, you may also have a gifted child. The goal is to create an environment where the child learns best, giving them the best start to their educational experience.
