September 2024

Will I see you in September?

I hope so! Even though we will only be virtual, I look forward to a couple of on-line events that we love continuing as the ATDF reorganizes. As you know we handed over the keys for the American Tap Dance Center to NYC Tap Dance Central. (see notice below).

So, I DO hope to see everyone on Tuesday, September 24th at 10am for another International Tap Dance Forum and catch up on global Tap dance programs and issues. Remember, you DON'T have to be from another country, nor do you have to be a professional dancer, choreographer, director or presenter. You can join us as a student or you might just be a Tap fan interested in what's going on around the world.

I'm also planning the next Tap TV event. So, hold the date Monday, September 30th at 6pm. (see below)

Meanwhile, I'll also see you in the funny papers!

A note from Susan Hebach,

HI all, after having a wonderful opportunity to work for the American Tap Dance Foundation as the Director of the Youth Program & Tap City Youth Ensemble, and working on other incredible projects as part of the team on Tap Teacher Training and Tap City, my 18 year run is coming to a close. I have learned so much, met so many wonderful people, and really am so appreciative of the work I was able to do here with the ATDF.

Upon the news of the planned closing of our much-loved American Tap Dance Center, I decided to take a leap of faith and find a way to continue doing the work I love and save this unique tap dance space & the focused tap education programs created by ATDF. I have mobilized our dedicated teachers, tap artists and student community to continue our youth and adult programs and save our unique tap dance space which has now become a new 501c3 "Tap Dance Central Inc." You can read more about our new organization, our board, and our mission by visiting Tap Dance Central Inc. .

We have a new lease in the current location, 154 Christopher St. Suite 2B, and classes will resume in September 2024! The majority of our faculty is returning for next fall, and we are working on developing new ideas and opportunities to offer our student community. It will be an exciting journey ahead for our new organization. If you have come to love the vibrant student community, the wonderful teachers and classes offered at the American Tap Dance Center, please consider being a part of Tap Dance Central Inc.
