Greetings Families,

As we continue to process and grieve the evolving news coming out of Uvalde, Texas, we encourage you to refer back to our blog post on Wednesday to reference supportive resources for you and your family.

We are heading into the home stretch! Students' last days of on-campus classes will be 6/3 for the TH/F cohort, and 6/7 for the M/T cohort. We are excited to end the year with our students and families. We hope to see you at the end of year party on June 1st @ Del Aire Park! More details below ;)

End of Year Picnic and Party at Del Aire Park!
Wednesday June 1st @ 12:00pm
The team at Del Aire Park's Rec Center has graciously invited us to collaborate and participate in their "Everybody Plays!" end of year party! There will be activities and stations that will be fun for the whole family.

Bring your own picnic lunch and help us celebrate the end of the year, and begin the summer fun!
COVID Update from our School Nurse
COVID cases are increasing in the wider community and within DV Schools. Please report all COVID cases to egreen@davincischools.org as soon as possible. Please monitor symptoms if you are a close contact, mask for 10 days from exposure and test 3-5 days after last exposure. Read more about preventing the spread and our quarantine flow chart!
 
Rapid covid tests are available at school sites during school hours, no appt needed. Student, please pre-register for testing here. It is a rapid test and results are available 15 minutes later. 
 
PCR tests available at 201 N Douglas Street every Monday/Tuesday 815-315pm. Results available approx Weds pm. Pre-​registration required https://ihd-patient.preciseq.com/davinci-schools 
 
Home Tests are available at school sites during school hours, please request from health office/front office.

Presentations of Learning
5/23-6/7
We are so excited for Presentations of Learning (POLs) to begin next week! This is one of Da Vinci's most meaningful signature practices, where students are given the opportunity to reflect on their learning and celebrate their growth in meaningful ways in front of an authentic audience of panel members! We hope you enjoy the POL experience as much as we do! For more information about your child's POL, please reach out to your classroom teacher.
2022-2023 K8 School Calendar
Our calendar for the 2022-23 school year has been approved! We will share the calendar in full on our websites soon, but for now:

  • The first day of homeschooling + 1:1 teacher meetings in the Fall will be the week of 8/15
  • The first day of in-person classes will be the week of 8/22

Daily Read A Louds with Julia!
**New Time**Daily from 3:00-3:30

Our amazing and talented teacher Julia will offer a read aloud activity every weekday (M-F) from 3:00-3:30! Reading selections will include classic picture books, guaranteed to bring joy to all our TK-8th grade students. Feel free to join her at her zoom link for this wonderful way to end a school day!
 
Attention: Elders, Grands, and Greats!
The Family Action Network would you like to invite you, as our very special guests, to participate in the Read Aloud activity with Juila on Wednesdays! Whether you are a family elder, grandparent, great aunt, or uncle, we would love to share this unique experience with you. We've been looking for more ways to see your faces and hear your voices, and this is a perfect way to do both! We welcome book suggestions from your personal library, that would be fitting to our audience of Tk-8th grade students!
