Journey Through Grief

Wednesdays October 14 through November 18

1:00 – 2:30 PM | Dierenfield Parlor

Grief is the natural response to the loss of a loved one, but it can often be a lonely and confusing experience. Our small group gathering, Journey Through Grief, is an opportunity for those who have suffered a loss to seek a path toward healing. It is designed to help understand the feelings about loss and grief, to honor one's own expression of mourning, and to embrace hope for the future.

Facilitated by Wendy McClave Elliott, LCSW (Ret.) Please help us plan for your presence via RSVP to wendymcclavelcsw@yahoo.com or call the church office 858.756.2441.

Thank You Village Church!

During our Homeless Veteran’s Initiative benefiting Interfaith Community Services our goal was to raise $14,000 for the purchase of new refrigerators for each of the apartments at their transitional housing for veterans. Thanks to the generosity of this congregation, we raised $22,000! The additional money will be used to buy a commercial freezer to replace the refrigerator that broke the day we arrived. They told us the timing could not have been better!

New Song Available - You Are the Light

We are beyond thrilled to announce the official release of "You Are the Light," an original contemporary Christian music song written and recorded specifically for Village Church’s milestone 70th Anniversary!

Asking for Your Stories

In celebration of 70 years of The Village Church, we invite members and friends of the congregation to share tributes, memories, and testimonials reflecting on the life and ministry of our church community. We welcome stories of meaningful moments, cherished friendships, faith journeys, and the ways The Village Church has touched your life over the years. Your reflections will help honor our shared history and celebrate God's faithfulness through seven decades of ministry together.

Please visit the website for sample submissions of 250 words or fewer, posted for reference. Please email your submission to anniversary@villagechurch.org

Bible or Hymnal Donation

Celebrate the church’s 70th Anniversary with the donation of a Bible or Hymnal, “In Honor of" or “With Thanksgiving for" a person or event, or “In Memory of” a loved one. 70th Anniversary Generosity Campaign

Our 70th Anniversary Generosity Campaign has begun. The scripture focus this year is Colossians 2:7 – “…rooted and built up in Christ, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”

Through this season, ending with Commitment Sunday on November 8, you are encouraged to ponder the meaning of this passage and to pray about your financial stewardship in the coming year. You will receive special messages in the mail as well as in your email inbox.

If you did not receive a special gift mug this past Sunday, please stop by the Generosity Table this coming Sunday to get one!

October Series - 'On the House'

This October, we’re walking students through an important and freeing truth: I am forgiven. Our theme, On the House, is built around the idea that God’s forgiveness is not something we earn—it’s something He freely gives because of what Jesus has already done.

October 18: Numbers 21:4-9;

John 3:14-17

October 25: Psalm 103:1-14
