The possibilities are exciting! |

During the month of March we celebrate the life and works of Ukrainian national poet, writer, artist, musician, philosopher, actor – Taras Shevchenko.
For the Ukrainian nation he symbolizes the centuries old struggle for freedom that continues to this day with the unprovoked genocidal war being waged on Ukrainian land.
As the namesake of our Foundation, Taras Shevchenko continues to inspire our mission here in Canada. As the Shevchenko Foundation (TSF) prepares to mark 60 years of fueling creativity, we look forward to celebrating our community and artists who, together, deliver powerful messages of hope and unity with pride in a cultural identity that continues to demonstrate that we are truly one culture strong.
We’re excited to present the 2023 Commemorative Bookmark! The imagery reflects Ukraine’s historical legacy and glory. The artist reflects the bright future that is filled with hope and boundless creativity.
We look forward to the possibilities! Bohdana Bashuk TSF Executive Director

Commemorative bookmark released |
 |
We're pleased to release the 2023 Commemorative Bookmark celebrating the legacy of Taras Shevchenko.
The artwork was designed by Tetiana Lototska, a Toronto-based visual artist who has recently relocated from Ukraine due to the full-scale war.
Tetiana is a graduate of the Lviv National Academy of Arts and Kosiv Specialist College of Applied and Decorative Arts where she specialized in oil painting and restoration. Tetiana is inspired by Ukrainian folklore and the nature of the Carpathian mountains. Her distinctive personal style expresses the unbreakable spirit of Ukrainian culture.
Based on Shevchenko's poem Do Osnovianenka, the imagery reflects the Ukrainian nation's undeniable glory while offering a promise of hope for the future that we will build together.

Children up to the age of 14 are invited to enter their own original bookmark inspired by this year’s poem – “Do Osnovianenka”/”To Osnovianenko”. One bookmark per province will be randomly selected to win a cash prize of $25.
Our idea and our song Will neither die nor perish... And that, good people, is our glory, The glory of Ukraine! We hope that this year's poem inspires young artists to share the many ways that we, in Canada, celebrate the glory of Ukraine.
