Public Hearing on Proposed Tax Rate & FY 2023 Budget
|
A Public Hearing will be held on Monday, Sept. 12 starting at 6:30 p.m. at Lakeway City Hall on the proposed tax rate and FY 2023 proposed budget. The City Council approved proposed tax rate is .1290, which is 17% lower than the current tax rate of .1545, and would be the lowest tax rate in Lakeway's history. That proposed tax rate would bring about a $40 reduction in a property owner's tax bill. Depending on where you live (based on the different water and fire districts), the City of Lakeway encompasses about 7% (seven-percent) of the full property tax bill for homeowners. That portion helps fund several important city services, like police, courts, parks & recreation (including events, park maintenance, landscaping, and swim and activity center operations), code compliance, permitting, public works (local road maintenance), and other services. CLICK HERE for more information on the proposed tax rate and proposed FY 2023 budget.
