Here’s the delicious dried cherry risotto recipe to go with the duck breast from last week. Enjoy!
Ingredients
2 cups chicken broth
1/4 c virgin olive oil
1/4 c minced red onion
1 c dried cherries
12oz Arborio rice
1/2tsp fresh rosemary minced
1/2 tsp garlic minced
Directions
Bring Broth to a simmer
In separate deep saucepan on med heat olive oil, garlic, onion saute until translucent.
Add rice & Rosemary and stir to coat
Then add cherries
Add simmer broth 1/2 cup at a timeuntil absorbed and rice is tender about 30 minutes stirring frequently. Make sure you have extra broth in case you need to add more to get it to finish cooking.

Ti Cuntu… means “I will tell you a story…” in Sicilian dialect and it refers to the ability of the wines made from these native grapes to tell the story of their terroir and of their history. The label shows the dry stone walls and the wild myrtle which characterize their territory. Frappato is a rare native grape of Vittoria and is almost exclusively grown in Eastern Sicily. The vineyards lie on the sides of Mont Iblei at 300 meters above sea level on a south-west exposure. The relatively infertile terrain encourages the concentrated structure with a light color and beautiful aromatics. Irrigation is generally avoided. Agriculture is sustainable and no herbicides or pesticides are used and wild herbs fill the vineyard rows.

Bouquet: A ripe strawberry, black cherry, roses and violets fill the bouquet along with notes of blackberries, raspberries and blueberries.

Qupé (pronounced "kyoo-pay") is known for its Rhône-style wines, and this Marsanne is a classic example of that approach in a Californian context. It "jumps out of the glass" with instinctively attractive aromas. About Sugar Bear Ice Cream
From Emily! Ice cream has such a beautiful way of bringing out the child in us all, no matter our age. I think that's pretty special. I started making ice cream when my kids were tiny and I was immediately hooked. It all started with one small machine. Then I got a bigger machine and then, an even bigger machine. I began studying ice cream and collecting every recipe I could find, and what started as a hobby turned into an all-consuming passion. I enrolled in the Ice Cream Short Course at Penn State, which has been running for over 125 years and draws people from around the globe. Upon graduation, I started SugarBear, set up shop and never looked back.
I focus on flavors that are built around locally grown or created ingredients. My goal is to celebrate food, small business, and community. Each flavor is made from scratch and reflects the authenticity, joy and creativity of people who live and work in Charlottesville, VA.
