Daughters of Neptune are Looking for the 2025 Court

We are looking for girls who would like to join the Daughters of Neptune Program for 2025. You need to be between the ages of 14 to 17 while serving as a Daughter of Neptune. It can be a daughter, Granddaughter or any girl wishing to help promote Life Jacket Awareness, and Water Safety. Clubs that would like to sponsor a Daughter but don't have one can contact Alicia Robinson for details. We are also always looking for Adult Chaperones to help run the program.

If you can help, please contact Alicia at Alicia@CRYA.us.

Dolphin Yacht Club is hosting a CPR and First Aid training/certification, March 22nd at 9am. Retired firefighter, David Koch will provide infant, child and adult CPR and first aid training and certification. The certificate is good for two years.

The class will be at DYC.

34 S A St, Washougal, WA 98671

Expect it to be about 2 1/2 hours in length. Please RSVP to get you place in the class. There truly is safety in numbers. The more of us that know CPR and first aid the better off we will be on out on the water if someone were to need a medical intervention. This is also a very important skill to have in our personal lives as well.

$60 per person (includes a field guide and your certification card).

Send me an email to RSVP. Be sure to put CPR in the subject line. I will send back a confirmation email. So be sure you’ve received that confirmation email.

You don’t have to be a member of our club to participate. We will have coffee and refreshments.

Opening Day May 3rd, 2025 Updates

The Parade Route Committee met 3 times and have come up with the route for this year's Opening Day Parade. It was determined that our best approach to make sure that all boat types could participate was to start the parade as in years past, in the same location near Glisan Boat Ramp. Then after exiting the parade judging area proceed left, change from 3 columns to a single file then proceed down the Washington side of the river. Then passing under the long span (Sailboats will have an optional high span route) continuing downriver past the Grant St. Pier before turning left and heading back upriver passing under the span to the Oregon side of the High Span. You can find a Parade Map Route HERE.

We will continue to work on promoting the Vancouver Waterfront Public participation as well now that we have our Parade Route confirmed. We will soon be updating the Website Opening Day Updates page listed below as we work to create a new concept for the CRYA Opening Day Parade. We as the organizers are feeling pretty excited about this year!

Opening Day Parade Route Practice Runs - April 19th and 26th - 10AM

TYEE Yacht Club is planning on having two practice parade route runs and have invited all clubs to join them in order to be ready for this year's new route for the parade. Kat Petterson who is the Fleet Captain for TYEE is organizing this and is offering the option for all clubs to join them on one or both days to participate. They will be using Ch. 68 for the coordination and the form up area will be in front of the TYEE YC area so that the transition from Parade Judging area formation to single file for the downriver portion can be worked out. If you aren't familiar with Kat, she is also the Columbia Fleet Leader for Christmas Ships with her husband Pete. Avid and knowledgeable Boaters that we can all learn something from. If you have any questions for Kat, she can be reached at Kat@CRYA.us.

Life Scout Isaac Hamann of Troop 479 Joined us at our January General Meeting to present his Eagle Project and hoping for financial support. It was a great presentation and CRYA voted to donate $250 to the project. He has a very interesting and difficult Eagle Project Identified in Beacon Rock State Park. His project is to restore one of the original picnic shelters in the park. His presentation can be viewed HERE. Please consider a donation, details on how are in the presentation.

Isaac is available to present this to your group or club as well as to answer any questions that you might have. His email is Isaac.Hamann64@gmail.com.

Content in your Club's Newsletters that all Boaters should read?

We can't see every club's internal communication, but we have to think some of the articles would be great information for all boaters. If you find that article of interest, please forward it to cryanews@gmail.com after getting approval to share. We can all be more informed.
