Application Tip #117
If I want to apply this spring for a Master's program in Germany, do I still have to wait until the fall to apply for a DAAD graduate study scholarship?
Y
es. Our applications are not on a rolling basis, which means that we only accept submissions for our graduate study scholarship once a year in the autumn, even though German university application deadlines are much later than ours for the winter semester.

Fun Fact
Did you know...
... that the German equivalent of the grilled cheese, and American comfort food classic, is something referred to as "Toast Hawaii?" Germans enjoy this snack at home or in small restaurants called
Imbisse,
as a quick and satisfying snack comprised of easily found ingredients: white bread that's toasted, canned pineapple slices, ham, melted cheese, and, in special cases, a maraschino cherry on top. Vegetarians can opt for a ham-free version. The dish was introduced in post-war 1950s West Germany by the TV cook Clemens Wilmenrod, and immediately became a hit—a delicacy considered simple to make but seemingly "exotic and upscale."
