CJ Teacher Impact Award
Our CJ teachers are fantastic and always go above and beyond for their students. This is your chance to recognize your favorite teacher. Your nominations will help us choose one teacher per building that will vie for our District Teacher Impact Award. Nominate an extraordinarily inventive, engaging, and caring CJ teacher.

Our District Teacher Impact Award winner may also be chosen to go on to compete at the regional and state level before the National Teacher of the Year.

Fellow teachers, parents, alums, administrators, or students may submit a nomination. Do it today; the deadline for submission is February 1!

Inclement Weather procedures and what you need to know
Winter weather will soon be upon us. When deciding whether to close schools, several factors are considered, including the amount of snowfall, the condition of residential and thoroughfare roads, temperature, and the ability to clear parking lots and sidewalks. We work closely with the weather service, and our team members personally travel the roads before making a final decision.

If school is canceled or the arrival/dismissal time is affected, an announcement will be made through our communication system using phone, text, and email; postings on social media and cjr1.org, and our local television stations. To ensure that you will receive notification, verify that your parent information is up to date in Parent Portal.

Holiday Season Wrap-Up
☝ Above, you will see photos from this year's 2nd and 3rd-grade classes as they delivered canned goods to the Carl Junction Fire Department. This food went out to help families during the holiday season. Thank you to all who gave so generously to help support this great community!
🎄 The Christmas parade was a great success, as many local businesses, community members, and CJ students participated.
🥫 The Intermediate students brought in over 2,400 food items that helped twelve Intermediate families during the holiday season!

Students plant daffodils on campus
Campus beautification was Mrs. Brummett's Floral & Landscape Design class assignment. Students planted 150 daffodil bulbs near the marquee at the corner of Pennell and Roney Streets. One of our school partners, The Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO), donated the bulbs in honor of their 50-year anniversary.

❤ Thank you to our hard-working agriculture students and CFO for this project that will bloom for many years to come.
Senior Capstone Projects
Engineering Design and Development students shared their Senior Capstone projects with staff and students in December. These designs represent the culmination of what they have learned over the past four years as engineering students at Carl Junction.
Each team identified problems that needed more realistic solutions, and their prototypes represented what they feel is a viable solution.
Students and staff asked questions and gave feedback on their solutions and prototypes.

We have an App!
The latest news and information from the Carl Junction School District is now available on smartphones, and mobile devices with a new mobile app launched this school year. We are expanding our communications outreach with a mobile app now available for free in the online Apple Store and Google Play® app stores.

The Carl Junction mobile app will offer a constantly updated feed of district news and events with photos and links to the district’s mobile-responsive website. The user can also customize the app by selecting the schools they are most interested in for news and updates.

Users may also choose to receive push notifications to get breaking news and updates about school closures, calendar changes, or even sports updates.

If you are a parent, the best part is that you may log into the app to get your student information with a touch of a button. Use the Google, Facebook, or Apple Sign-in button to see your student's lunch account balance, daily schedule, library balance, and bus information.
