"HOPE"

"WEEKS AFTER I WROTE THIS PIECE, I SUFFERED THE MOST TRAGIC LOSS OF MY LIFE: Both my parents passed away two weeks apart. Before passing away, my mother named this piece HOPE. Three months later, my husband and I found out I was pregnant; we were expecting our first child! In memory of my beloved parents, in dedication to my husband who is my rock and who held me up in the valley of my most profound grief, and in anticipation of our child who will soon be born, I bring you this live studio recording: A song of love with a melodic build up ending in a musical apotheosis of HOPE."

I was so honored by the wonderful comments made by some of my musical colleagues. This is my favorite: "As I listen to this beautiful composition, being aware of the horrible tragedy that befell Mary and her family with the loss of her beloved parents, it seems almost prophetic to me that she was able to capture both the grief of loss and the joy of the pending birth of her first child in this song before these events actually occured. Like she was somehow in tune with fate and where it would take her. That's the intrigue inherent in this compostion."
