Truth & Reconciliation
On September 30, we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation—a time to reflect, remember, and honour the experiences of Indigenous Peoples.
On September 2, 2026, Council gathered on the traditional territories of the Tionontati (Petun) and the Treaty 18 lands of the Anishinaabe peoples, whose relationship with these lands spans thousands of years.
Council acknowledged the lasting impacts of colonization and the residential school system on First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities, and renewed their commitment to reconciliation through continued listening, learning, and meaningful action.
May this acknowledgement serve as a reminder of our shared responsibility to build a future grounded in respect, understanding, and reconciliation.

Honeywood Hockeyville Equipment Loan Program
Mulmur is excited to launch the Honeywood Hockey Equipment Loan Program (Honeywood HELP) initiative this year.
As part of the Kraft Hockeyville 2025 competition, Honeywood earned a spot in the top four communities and ultimately received 18 sets of brand-new hockey equipment through the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA) Goals & Dreams Equipment Grant. This generous contribution has made it possible for the Township to establish the Honeywood HELP program, making hockey more accessible for Mulmur youth.
Honeywood HELP is a no-cost equipment loan program available to eligible Mulmur youth who are registered to play with the Honeywood Minor Hockey Association. The program provides access to a full range of essential hockey equipment, helping remove financial barriers that may prevent children from participating in the sport.
Available equipment for loan includes practice jerseys, elbow pads, garter/jocks, gloves, helmets, neck protectors, pants, shin guards, shoulder pads, equipment bags, skates, socks and sticks.
The program is intended for both children trying hockey for the first time and for families who may need assistance with the cost of equipment. By providing access to brand-new gear, Honeywood HELP supports grassroots hockey, promotes inclusivity, and ensures more youth can experience the enjoyment of being part of the game.
Through this initiative, the Township of Mulmur is proud to help nurture the next generation of hockey players while building on the recent Honeywood Arena upgrades and reinforcing our commitment to keeping the arena and hockey alive, accessible, and thriving in Honeywood for generations to come.

Embrace the Fall Harvest
September is one of the best times of year to enjoy Ontario’s local harvest! From crisp apples and pumpkins to potatoes, squash, and corn, there is no shortage of fresh, locally grown food to enjoy.
Choosing local produce supports farmers in our community and surrounding areas while helping reduce the environmental impact associated with transporting food long distances.
Visit a local farmers’ market or farm stand, or make a trip to a nearby apple orchard to pick your own!
