Stronger in Community

We come to MVUUF to remember that we are not alone

and that we're better when we're together.

Dear MVUUF members and friends,

It's spring, the daffodils and tulips are blooming, cherry and plum trees are blossoming, and this is the time of year when each of us is invited into generosity via a financial pledge to MVUUF. It is an opportunity to sustain our beloved church community and consider what MVUUF means to each of us. Your pledge funds our annual budget, strengthens this community, which supports you through life’s ups and downs, and sustains our important social justice work.

The great Unitarian Universalist historian, Rev. Dr. Mark Morrison-Reed, asserts:

The religious community is essential, for alone our vision is too narrow to see all that must be seen, and our strength too limited to do all that must be done. Together, our vision widens and our strength is renewed.

As Rev. Kellie reminds us each Sunday, we’re better when we’re together. In these challenging and troubling times, liberal religious communities like ours are incredibly important, especially in Southwest Ohio. Liberal religion offers love, inclusion, and justice in stark contrast to the hate

preached loudly by White Christian Nationalism. MVUUF is one of these rare liberal religious communities refusing to bow to hate. MVUUF provides our members and friends a place where we can work towards our shared values, vision, and mission together. MVUUF has never been more important than it is today.

In addition to the accomplishments highlighted on our pledge drive brochure, MVUUF Stronger, we have many other accomplishments to celebrate. MVUUF VISION & MISSION

Vision: We envision a world free of injustice and inequity where inclusive Love flourishes and the sacredness of every individual is celebrated.

Mission: We covenant to create a Beloved congregation that nurtures spiritual growth and joy, collaborates with other progressive groups, and inspires remarkable transformation in us and our world.

2. 131 Pledging Adults

3. $200,000 towards the projected 2026-27 budget of nearly $400,000*

*We are investing in our future for growth and long-term sustainability.

WHAT ACTUALLY IS A PLEDGE?

A pledge is a personal commitment to donate a specific amount of money to the congregation over the course of a year to support the Fellowship’s operations, staff, and programs. It is a non-binding promise, which means you can adjust your pledge should your circumstances change (up or down).

HOW MUCH SHOULD I PLEDGE?

Any pledge that is meaningful to you is welcome. Every pledge is a validation of our vision, mission, and future.

This is a personal decision that should reflect your personal budget and financial situation. Please see our handy giving guide below to determine what’s right for you.

If you pledged last year, THANK YOU and please consider increasing this year's pledge by 10%.

If you pledged previously, but not last year, we ask for your financial participation this year.

If you are a new member, or haven't pledged before, please consider making a pledge that you can comfortably afford. We don’t want anyone to stress about funding their pledge.

Please submit your paper pledge form by placing it in the box on the pledge table or in the collection plate on Sundays. It can also be mailed to the office (MVUUF, 515 E. Third St., Dayton OH 45402). You can also submit your pledge online through the fellowship website (top right) or the button below.

All Pledge forms are DUE Sunday, May 10, 2026.
