2022-23 YEAR END REPORT FROM THE PTSA BOARD
President’s Report (Srini & Mark)
As we sign off the school year 2022-23, we want to take this moment to reflect. On behalf of the 2022-23 ICS PTSA Board members, we want to extend our gratitude to the ICS community for the privilege to serve.
This year marked the return to the new normal after the pandemic with several in person events and activities including all school camp, focus week, art day, international food night and several familiar events. Hats off to all the committee chairs and volunteers for their dedication. Thank you to the Focus week committee for their community engagement and feedback. We are grateful to the ICS families for their generous contributions of volunteer hours and donations and matching funds from their employers which allowed us to fund and support so many programs to enrich the students in the school, and out in the community to soar.
Yes, we have had many challenges and we have been able to come together as a community to overcome those and we will continue to endeavor to further heights in the years to come.
We want to acknowledge our great partnership over many years with the school administration and staff – special thanks to Margaret Kinney and Michael O’Donnell. We want to take this opportunity to convey our best wishes to Margaret Kinney on her next endeavor.

-
Class Liaison program – This program was borne out due to constraints of the pandemic a few years ago. But it has grown to become the signature program to engage parents at a grade-level. This year we spent nearly $3500 on this program.
-
Staff Appreciation – With approx. $3500 in budget, the PTSA volunteers appreciated the staff and teachers every month with a yummy lunch and snacks. This group of volunteers opted for a themed lunch for each day of the Staff Appreciation week in May.
-
DEI – On a beautiful May evening, the community of students, parents and teachers celebrated the diverse community of ICS with an amazing selection of food made by the parents. The DEI team continued their mission to celebrate the diverse community through their cookbook initiative.
-
Emergency prep – With nearly $800 in budget, this Committee partnered closely with the school staff and teachers to ensure every class was stocked well to be prepared for unforeseen emergency. This included replacing any expired materials, water etc. The dedication of the team is clearly visible as they have a plan of action for the next school year as well.
-
Site Maintenance – With approx. $1700 in budget, this committee of dedicated volunteers ran multiple cleaning and beautification initiatives. They arrived at the school after hours or weekends with brooms and trash bags to leave the school and classrooms looking neat and tidy.
-
School Spirit – At the onset of the school year, a group of parent volunteers coordinated with staff to order and distribute logowear to show the school spirit in full vigor.
- This year, we also planned a Parents’ talent show for the first time. We supported students by providing snacks and water to the health room, and cookies for the Art Day.
