Can We Stop AI Before It Stops Us?

Can humanity rein in AI if it shows its rogue side?

That is the question raised by Jack Clark, co-founder of Anthropic, who has suggested the need for a potential “kill switch” if the promises surrounding AI prove dangerously optimistic. The risks posed by advanced AI are increasingly being acknowledged by senior figures in the field, with some warning that the odds may be far less reassuring than we would like to believe.

If estimates suggesting a one-in-ten risk of human extinction are taken seriously, an uncomfortable question follows: will companies continue “rolling the dice” in pursuit of progress and profit, or can we trust those in charge to pull the plug if AI crosses the line? Read the full story here

Anthropic CEO Sounds Alarm Over an AI-Powered Internet Takeover

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei has issued a stark warning that increasingly capable AI agents could pose a major cybersecurity threat within the next six to 12 months.
