Grateful Hearts, Stronger Community

Wes's Weekly Wrap Up - Pastor Appreciation Month

In this edition of Wes’s Weekly Wrap-Up, LUM CEO Wes Tillett shares his gratitude for our faith leaders during Pastor Appreciation Month. We are thankful for their dedication to serving others, caring for our neighbors, and strengthening our community throughout Greater Lafayette.

Volunteers Make a Difference

Celebrating the Heart of LUM

At Lafayette Urban Ministry, our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. They generously share their time, talents, and compassion to help our neighbors facing hardship. From serving meals and organizing donations to welcoming guests and supporting special events, volunteers help make LUM a lifeline of help and hope throughout Greater Lafayette.

We invite you to join them! LUM has several upcoming events that need community support, including Empty Bowls on October 28, the Community Thanksgiving Meal, and the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning.

To all our LUM volunteers, thank you for sharing your time and hearts with our neighbors. We are grateful for each of you and the difference you make every day!

Turkey Trot 2026

Run with Purpose

Make the LUM Turkey Trot part of your Thanksgiving tradition! Join friends, family, and neighbors on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, at 8:30 AM at Connection Point Church in West Lafayette for a fun 5K run or walk that makes a difference in our community.

Last year, participants helped raise more than $40,000 to support Lafayette Urban Ministry and its mission to be a lifeline of help and hope for our neighbors.

We’re excited about this year’s improvements! Registration will take place inside the church, and participants will have access to ample restroom facilities before the race. You can be part of that impact while enjoying some fresh air, getting moving, and starting your holiday with purpose.

Registration is open! Sign up today, invite your family and friends, and help make this Thanksgiving brighter for local individuals and families.

Word of Hope

Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.
