Grace's essay, "Pilgrims of Hope: Following God's Call" won for the 10th grade category, and she was invited to read her essay out-loud during the event.
Grace's essay was about her journey of converting to Catholicism and how Father Eric Johnson R'92 and Father Tim Wyciskalla R'06 had such a big impact on her. "I won the essay contest, which really surprised me. It's an honor to receive this award because it truly shows how people shouldn't give up or don't think you won't win," said Grace. We are thrilled to let you know that ROAR, Roncalli’s favorite fundraiser, was highly successful and exceeded our goal this year, including the funds raised for our Big Give, supporting the restoration of the Chapel of the Sacred Heart! The event also ensures our Circle of Faith projects, which include needs-based tuition assistance, teacher training and enrichment, projects on campus and the endowment are funded, making Roncalli the Greatest School on Earth.
We are blessed to have the support of our community – and support from our sponsors, donors, committee members and volunteers! We are especially thankful for the students who volunteered at the event to ensure our guests enjoyed every minute of the evening. Thank you for celebrating with us and for supporting the students, families, faculty and staff at Roncalli High School!

NEWMAN CONNECTION
Parents and Students of the Class of 2025:
As a school community, we work every day to establish a strong faith community and to foster a love for our Church. After our students graduate, we recognize the need to support our graduates in staying connected to the Catholic Church. In our continued commitment to our student's spiritual growth, we partner with Newman Connection.
Newman Connection’s High School Outreach Program is dedicated to connecting graduating high school students to the Catholic campus ministry of their chosen college (whether it is a Catholic college or not). In an effort to bridge the gap in the transition between the community here at Roncalli and the Catholic faith community of our student's chosen college, Roncalli will provide our students' names and emails to the Newman Connection to invite them to connect to the Catholic campus ministry on campus - whether that is an invitation to come to Mass, to participate in a service opportunity or to receive pastoral support.
Parents or students can sign up now by clicking below.
| | If you are not interested in participating in this program, please contact Mary Sheets msheets@roncalli.org by graduation day. Annually, the Roncalli High School Alumni Association sponsors a summer basketball league. This league runs from June through August, consisting of eight regular season games on Sundays. The season concludes with a postseason tournament. Each game will consist of two-20 minute running halves and will be officiated by two IHSAA officials. Those who are not Roncalli alumni are welcome to play. The rule to ensure the integrity and intent of the league is that three alumni must be on the court for each team for the entire game. If necessary, different divisions will be implemented to ensure fair competition.
Additional information regarding the league and registration is forthcoming.
If you have any questions, please contact the alumni basketball league coordinator, Jack Hegwood R’18 at jackhegwood@gmail.com.
