Leaders from Dallas College, UNT Dallas, Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas Woman's University inked the Dallas Transfer Collaborative on Thursday, joining together with the goal of helping students get their bachelor's degrees with less debt.

Pilot Point breaks ground on new fire station ahead of development boom

• Union Bear Brewing Co. opened in Denton this week, becoming another local hub for craft beer and chef-driven pub fare. Housed in the former Armadillo Ale Works building, the brewery features award-winning beers, a varied menu including vegan options and a completely renovated space with retro-modern vibes.

• Denton officials are divided on tightening rules for Airbnb and Vrbo properties because of enforcement issues — only 33 out of 250 rental units are registered to pay the city’s hotel occupancy tax currently.

• Denton police are investigating an alleged homicide of a woman that occurred Tuesday night at a home on Holland Lane, according to a news release.
