A Message from Headmaster Scott
Dear Archway Trivium West families,
In some future day I will be dead and gone. And when that day comes I will join the immense throng of all who have gone before. I imagine a few of us sitting at a table sipping whatever spirits sip (maybe spirit spirits?) and reminiscing about our earthly experiences. I wonder what my place will be in that conversation. If my friends around the table truly represent the whole of the human family, I’m afraid I will be an oddball indeed. After all, most of them will have ridden horses, worked physically taxing jobs, and probably did not learn to read. They will have no understanding of mortgages, flat tires, 9-to-5 jobs, or any of the other things that we assume as common stressors in modern life. Will I be honored at that table as a person of great understanding and wisdom? Will I be mocked and derided for the relative ease of my life? In one sense, I have met them and have some cerebral understanding of their lives because I have read old books, but I cannot truly know them the way they will know each other. While I fret alone about my mortgage, they will unite around the shared physical turmoil of their lives. What could I say at that time that would connect me to that group? What jokes will be found humorous to all? What stories will make us cry? Which heroes will inspire us? I truly believe that such jokes and stories and heroes do exist, and they reveal the essence of what it means to be human. I don’t know what they are, but I am looking for them. Thank you for looking with me.
Heartily Devoted,
Clay Scott
Headmaster

Academy Giving - Tax Credit
|
IT’S NO JOKE!!!! You give us a $200/$400 Public School Tax Credit & AZ RETURNS IT TO YOU WHEN YOU FILE YOUR STATE TAXES!
We currently are at 66% of our Tax Credit goal!! We need 56 more Tax Credits to reach goal. If you are doing your taxes this weekend, don’t forget this EASY WAY to support the school. RE-DIRECT your tax dollars that would otherwise go to the state of AZ and allow them to benefit our Field Trips and Extracurricular Programs at Archway Trivium West. Encourage anyone else you know with AZ state tax liability to do the same! Help us make the Silly Sock Celebration a reality for the scholars! bit.ly/ArchwayTriviumTC
| |
HELP US REACH GOAL BY REACHING OUT TO YOUR NETWORK IN ARIZONA – there is simply NO EASIER WAY to financially support our school than encouraging Arizona state tax-payers to re-direct tax dollars to the school. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK THEM!!!!
|
1) For 2021, The CARES Act allows taxpayers to claim a $300 (single)/$600 (married) deduction for cash gifts to a 501c3 like Trivium even if you use the standard deduction and do not itemize. This is in addition to your standard deduction!!!

State Testing Dates (3rd-5th Grade Students Only)
Please mark your calendars for the following state-testing dates. In order to best prepare for the exams, we ask that you take note of the dates below and plan ahead. If a student leaves the testing environment, s/he cannot continue their exam and it will be submitted as-is. Please do not schedule appointments for these dates or pull your children out early.
We recommend that your scholars get a good night's sleep the day before and a nutritious breakfast in the morning. Please have students bring the following: a healthy snack and water bottle for the break during testing.
Additionally, all students should bring a set of headphones, as certain parts of the test require audio. These must not be Bluetooth headphones, but be able to connect via an auxiliary cord.

Thank you for your patience and caution during student drop-off and pick-up. The safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance.
As a reminder, to minimize the backup of traffic on Encanto/Bullard before the end of the school day, we are closing the Encanto entrance to our school parking lot from 2:35-3:00pm. Goodyear Police will be monitoring traffic on Encanto and Bullard during this time, and if you are stopped on one of these roads waiting to enter campus, you may be ticketed.
On Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday, families who are picking up Archway-only students should arrive to campus AFTER 3:10 PM. Families picking up both Archway and Prep students, please remind your Prep students to arrive to the pick-up zone promptly.
On Wednesdays, families picking up BOTH Archway and Prep students are asked to arrive AFTER 1:40 PM. On Wednesdays, families picking up Archway-only should arrive at 1:25PM.
Parents picking up Archway students from school MUST use the Archway pickup line. Prep students picking up Archway students to meet a parent driver may NOT load into a car in the Prep pick-up line or on Palm Lane. The entrance/exit to our parking lot from Encanto Blvd is right turn only.
