IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS

Think Green! Turn off lights when you are not in the room. Unplug appliances when not in use.

As the holiday nears, take simple precautions that can help ensure the holiday remains fun and fire safe.

From 2020–2024 there was an average of 835 home structure fires that began with decorations per year. These fires caused an annual average of 3 civilian fire deaths, 29 civilian fire injuries, and $18 million in direct property damage.

Nearly half (47%) of these fires occurred because the decorations were too close to a heat source, such as a candle or hot equipment.

Approximately one-third (33%) of these fires were started by candles.

Medicare Open Enrollment is around the corner! Meet with a Medicare counselor through the State Health Insurance program (SHIP) to learn about the program and your options for the upcoming year.
