In order to provide continuing support for North Carolina’s youngest readers, The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Office of Early Learning has developed and released “Literacy at Home.”
This digital resource provides literacy activities at each grade level, pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Families and communities may access this resource for activities that specifically target the literacy skills of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and oral language.
When children grow in each of these foundational areas they are well on their way to becoming proficient readers.

The Access Amazing Scholarship covers the cost of tuition and fees for many high school graduates in Guilford County.
The scholarship removes cost as a barrier for students graduating from a Guilford County high school and is a "last dollar" scholarship* that pays the remaining balance of student in-state tuition, college fees, and course fees once all other federal and state grants, scholarships, and sponsorships are applied.

The Healthy Relationships Initiative (HRI) was founded through a partnership between UNC Greensboro and the Phillips Foundation.
Over the years since HRI launched in February 2017, HRI has brought together interdisciplinary experts to develop resources and information that advance HRI’s mission to promote happy, healthy, and safe relationships of all kinds.
HRI Toolkits are designed to offer you a set of tools to strengthen your relationships. Each HRI Toolkit offers three sets of resources.
- First, Reflect resources provide self-reflection activities to examine your beliefs and views toward relationships.
- Second, Connect resources offer Conversation Starters to help guide discussions with others in your life to better understand one another.
- Third, the tools in the Build section offer tip sheets that address several common elements of different types of relationships.
