January 2024 Beginning Pottery and Beginning Pottery Part 2 class registration will open on December 04, 2023 at Noon. The cost of classes is $550 per student. This cost includes a $50 refundable key deposit which will provide 24-hour open studio access. Classes are limited to 9 students and will fill quickly. Our classes have been filling in less than 10 minutes (sometime less than 5). Please see below for a list of what classes will be available.

Beginning Pottery - 10 weeks - $550

• Thursday, January 04 - March 07 from 6 - 8:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, January 09 - March 12 from 6 - 8:30 p.m.
• Thursday, January 25 - March 28 from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Beginning Pottery classes are for those who have never worked on a pottery wheel or who just want to brush up on their skills. Students who know the basics but prefer to continue working with an instructor are also welcome.

This 10-week class meets once a week for 2½ hours to teach the basics of wheel thrown pottery: wedging, centering, pulling, trimming, glazing, and basic studio etiquette. We will also cover basic hand-building instruction.

Beginning Pottery Part 2 - 10 weeks - $550

• Wednesday, January 17 - March 20 from 6 - 8:30 p.m.

If you know how to throw a bowl and a cylinder and are ready to move beyond the basics, Beginning Pottery Part 2 is for you. If you have never had a pottery class, please sign up for one of our other Beginning Pottery classes. This class does assume that you have done some pottery before and know the basics.

The class will meet once a week for 2½ hours. Students will be encouraged to come to class with a self-proposed project to work on over the course of 10 weeks. The instructor will provide demonstrations of somewhat more advanced ideas based on the work students are interested in making.
