The final rule for use of state and local funds under the American Rescue Plan Act takes effect April 1, 2022.

- Expands support for public sector hiring and capacity
- Streamlines options for essential worker premium pay
- Broadens eligible water, sewer and broadband infrastructure projects
- Simplifies the program for small localities including a standard allowance for revenue loss as an option to using the interim final rule formula.
