THE CLIOS, AD MUSIC, OUR LA AGENDA, NEW WEBINARS AND THREE ACTIVE BRIEFS

I hope you are doing great, and that the New Year is treating you well.

I’m reaching out with an update on our events and courses at Sync Summit (like the launch of our first version of the LA Sync Summit) and our sister licensing company, Disconic, as well as a unique opportunity for you to submit music to three live briefs.

WE WON A CLIO!

The biggest news from our side on the music licensing side is that an ad we worked on won a bronze Clio Music Award for Music Supervision in an ad.

Specifically, an Adobe ad named “Child’s Play” used the music from one of our clients, Nippon Columbia, and more specifically the song “Dodonpa” as performed by the Japanese artist Kyary Paymu Paymu and produced and written by the Japanese pop mastermind Nakata Yatsutaka.

Our licensing company Disconic submitted this ad for nomination, and we’re so delighted for Kyary, Nakata, Nippon Columbia, our friends at Adobe’s ad agency, 72 and Sunny and of course Adobe for the win because this Clio belongs to everyone involved. Thank you to everyone and the Clio Music Jury for this honor.

Music for ads and brands is one of my true passions, and there’s nothing I enjoy more than connecting musicians and the people that work with their music to opportunities with brands and in the ad industry. In 2024, it’s my mission bring together musicians and the music industry with agencies and brands to create great campaigns.

To help you get the contacts, tools and knowledge to succeed in the world of advertising and brands (and maybe win your own Clio), come to our upcoming AdSync Summit, taking place at The Hard Rock Hotel in NYC from April 10-12:

Or consider taking ad deep dive into the world of music and ads with me and Ad Music Supervisor Josh Rabinowitz for our Music In Ads Course, the only course that focuses exclusively on the keys to success in creating and licensing music to brands and the ad industry. Classes are all online and start January 18th:

We’ve built both the event and the course to help you navigate and prosper in the ad industry with your music.

As for our company Disconic, it is a music house and sync licensing agency that represents amazing music from across the world, including every imaginable genre from major labels to individual artist from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Mainland China, SE Asia, Latin America, India, Eastern and Western Europe and North America.

Here's an example of some of the music we rep, Japan's Legendary Pizzicato Five.

And, even if we don’t represent the song in these regions, we can probably help you connect to the people that can clear the music for you. If you’re interested in working with us of knowing more about who we represent and what we do, please reach out.
